It really did, I mean it used to be dark cramped hallways with the only source of light is the flickering lights above or your weapon as Necromorphs sneak up behind you randomly with a loud scream or the ship making noises. Then it was semi lit area where you can see exactly where Necromorphs are able to come from. Then of course the open area well lit where the necromorphs seem to be more humanistic at times than monstrous in the first
