Description
This is Kaphiri. He enjoys tea, old books, and opera. He's a spectacled cobra and is therefore venomous, though he possesses a gentle, if somewhat somber personality. He wears the cloak to conceal the telltale markings, because first impressions are a bitch, and to an untrained eye he's simply a brown snake.No cobra hood, because I didn't feel like it.

I love his design and the way you made his markings. I also like his third eye, is there any reason to its existance? Just wondering. ^^

Initially I just added it as a whim, because I love random extra and/or missing body parts and whatnot, but I did a little snooping afterwards that turned out kind of neat. The third eye, as you may know, is the ajna or sixth chakra on the human body, and represents higher states of mental awareness, various mental powers, and so forth. Noteably, Shiva the Destroyer of Hindu legend has a third eye, and one of the animals that is often paired with him is the cobra, which are often coiled around his neck. Incidentally, Kaphiri is a cobra. In addition, the popular masonic symbol of the eye on the pyramid that you see on the back of dollar bills and whatnot (supposed to represent the third, all-seeing eye, as I understand it) kind of ties in as well. The eye is on a pyramid/ziggurat which means something akin to "hill of God". Kaphiri means "hill".
So unintentional tie-ins, but I thought they were neat.

Oh his design is absoloutly wonderful to look at~! And I love the sound of his personality as well. The cload almost looks like a hood, how you have it drawn. Weather that was intentional or not, I think it's lovely. Man I love those colors...and his eyes.

This character is an extremely cool idea. I get the impression that he'd feel terrible if he poisoned someone. And the rest of his family probably wouldn't understand him...

He seems quite the fantasmale character, and I don't care if that is not a word.
He does have quite a charming sense about him, and I can totally understand why he would not want to be misunderstood as some, reckless cobra.

ya know, i always did wonder how you would make a hooded cobra in your style. the answer is fairly simple and i can't believe it didn't occur to me. his broad shoulders are the perfect place for his hood marking, and the cloth he uses to cover it works as a sort of pseudo hood as well, shape wise.
god your nagas are just so ... creatively designed. i really like his third eye, and the fact that just because he's a cobra doesn't mean he's an OMG BADASS KILLER WTF character.
i want to hug him... i think this is now one of my favorite nagas of yours.

I've said it before and I'll say it again--I love heeeeem! His colors are so dynamic (I'll never understand how you're able to do that with brown), and he seem so sweet. And so purdy. :B Hee.
