Disclaimer: I do not own Hetalia or the image used in this motivational. They are owned by Hidekaz Himaruya and Google Images. Only the text is mine.OF COURSE Germany and HRE are not the same person. I mean, itβs not like (a) they look almost exactly alike, (b) their personalities are identical, (c) they have the same relationship with Italy (except Germany and Italy havenβt made out yet
), (d) they have the same relationships with several other characters, (e) Germany has never been shown as a child and HRE has never been shown as an adult, even though practically all the other characters have, and (f) if you look at history, the Holy Roman Empire did, for all intents and purposes, become Germany. Yes, not one bit of that is true. -_-Seriously, how can anyone not think that they are the same person?

My friend just started watching Hetalia a couple of days ago and he needed me to explain why Germany and HRE are the same person....took a while for it to get in his head....even though his first comment about Germany was 'Germany is gay isn't he?' XD

HRE is more close to Prussia than to Germany not only as a character but also as a country. Even Germans now-days knows that the HRE is the first Reich leads by I don't even know who, and then, many years after HRE lost- Bismark (from Prussia) was the one who rebuild Germany as a nation, the second Reich.... and well...... I guess we all know about the third Reich.......
So:
1st Reich- HRE (who the hell)
2nd Reich- Prussia (Bismark)
3rd Reich- Germany (Hitler)
..... yay
I only know about it because I had a big big big big---- a giant test about German history (for some reason lol).

Especially since in San Buon Valentino Germany had freakin' memories of Chibitalia and HRE's sleeve coming from the viewer's direction giving Italy a flower. There's no way a memory of being someone means you're them. *sarcasm*
In my opinion either-
1.HRE lost his memory and became Germany
or
2. HRE did die but his consciousness is living in Germany's somewhere deep down

Well, we really have no idea how old anyone in Hetalia is, do we? :\ They're kids, sometimes they're shown in the teenager-age, and then once they hit 20-ish they just kinda stay there for all eternity. 'Grandpa Rome' does NOT look old enough to be a grandpa, now does he?
