I don't know if you've all heard the NEWS … but yeah, Hiccup's going to be older and 'hotter'. Which has a disturbingly high percentage of the httyd-fans on tumblr freaking out.So I wanted to give this new 'older' look a bit of a realistic go. See? He can still be the same cutie without people losing sight the boy we all know and love.

I kinda saw this would happen. I wonder if Hiccups look will be older still in the 3rd film. And will there be anything like a short in between as a transition. I just hope that he does not lose his personality

I'm still having a hard time thinking of Hiccup as an adult. I don't know why. I like your interpretation, but I can't shake off the uneasiness I feel about an adult Hiccup.

Well, it's not for everyone. I personally look forward to it. I mean, a large part of his story is about growth and change and taking up responsibility, so getting to see that in three separate pieces on his journey to become chief of Berk seems perfect to me.

Nice that they are making good on the promise to show Hiccup growing older. I figured they'd make him gorgeous, too, to show he was a late bloomer. I remember one animator mentioning that Hiccup would probably wind up being even more attractive than Jack Frost, so get ready for a fan art invasion.
I just hope they don't go overboard and make him too hot and sexy and perfect and badass (and boring). You kind of captured that in your little thumbnail. It would take away the relatable, goofy and good natured, eccentric and yet totally cool Hiccup that we saw emerging in the first movie.
I hope it turns out more like your vision.

I don't know about gorgeous (though there will certainly be the fangirls who will see nothing but gold) but I always figured he'd be attractive. I think it just makes his transformation from outcast to chief a little bit sweeter.
I think I also remember that comment about Jack Frost as well, but to be honest I wasn't all together into Jack Frost. I thought he was 'cute' but not really hot. I think Hiccup easily has all factors to be more attractive than Jack, especially now that they'll be of a closer age, Hiccup was just young, you know?
Like I said on tumblr, I'm not worried in the slightest. Hiccup seems more the type to be focused on his goals than take any notice of his looks. I think they'll make him attractive but it won't take away at all from his character. I'm honestly a little shocked that people even thought to even question the integrety of his character based on his looks.
