Description Oh how long I have tried to get one of these shots of a motorcyclist with a thing of ducks behind him. Yup, these ducks are going to be delivered, fresh, to a market where people will flock to get the first picks on the best of the fowl. Chinese people like their food really fresh, its hard to get un-fresh stuff here, most meat being slaughtered the same day or vegetables being picked that morning. Next I got to get a shot of trucks full of pigs…

I took this shot from inside a taxi as I was going home from another photo outing into the country side. I love how so many of the ducks seem to be looking at me.

Yashica GSN, 45mm f1.7 Yashinon lens, Ilford XP2 shot at 320.

great picture, especially from a taxi. I understand it's Chinese culture, but i still think it's totally cruel.

HAHAHA.. i don't know why, but i laughed at this picture. It's rather comical. What an interesting thing to look out, a motorbike with a bunch of ducks on 'em.. what an interesting culture. The only thing i'm worried about is whether the ducks are scared to death or not. Aside from the fact that they's jst hanging their by the feet, they seem pretty close to that wheel.. o_o; Kind of scary.

This is really interesting.. fascinating.. Wow, i marvel at this picture. Good job.

o_O Are they all tied on by their feet, then? That seems the most logical...

It's a comical shot - and definately the decisive moment! Great photo. ^_^

nice capture, i applaud the clear shot view of the moving subject, not to mention u are in a cab sumore. to the person above saying this is cruel, i don't see how one could compare this to say, the gene-altering and mass-injection of chickens for kfc.

here here, these birds were all free range raised, they wandered around and quacked about and now they are gona be eaten, the cruel part is killing them to be eaten not carting them somewhere but thats just the way it is.

That is a classic.
Very clever capture with the motion and all.
I'd hate to get the duck closest to the exahust pipe.
I was in Beijing from May to June last year and i can't wait to get back. I never saw this but i really loved the markets.
Take it easy mate and have a great day.

How are the ducks kept on the carriage? I would assume, from the alert manner in which some ducks are holding their heads, that these are alive?

Nice pic.

very much alive, they are all tied by their feet or wings and then hooked to eachother and tied to the back to the bike.
