Description Fanart of Amaterasu from the video game Okami. This one is just a quick simple piece (took about 3.5 hours total). Materials are copics and watercolors on paper.

OKAMIIIII~ XD I can see you have improved upon your past Okami piece. Nice job! (ugh... so busy and 800+ messages... i'm dying... XD)
I like the puppy-like look on Amaterasu. It's really cute in my opinion. Also, the swirly-blue background puts nice contrast with the fire from the divine instrument! I thought there could be a little more detail on her (I think Amaterasu's a girl, I can't remember) plate. (baaaah i seriously can't remember)
Awesome job! Keep it up.

Thank you once again for writing one of your amazing comments! I always do appreciate it! And yes, this one did seem to turn out a little cuter than most ^^ I was actually surprised at how popular this piece became figuring it was meant to be only a quick sketchy thing (which is why the disc on her back doesn't have a ton of detail and such). I will re-do Okami again in the future though - and I will be sure to get the details a little more well drawn :3

I was always fascinated by this video game, to bad it is one of those unappreciated ones in the US. I think the colors are very good the lighter and darker values to the contrast that is the reds and yellows to the more greens ans aqua marines that of transitioning water in the background. The disk on top even seems correct, and the fact you have the cute little thing that also make the image look wit cute and subtle appeal, well done.

Thanks! Hm, colors? Do you mean the markers or the watercolors going everywhere? The watercolor is just being careful with the brush, the markers just sort of stay inside the lines by themselves! c:

You mean Orochi? He's a pretty awesome character c:
I finished the game three times. . . but it was a while ago and I don't remember what happens after the Orochi battle. . I just know that there's a lot more though! My favorite thing about the game was how long it went on for - I thought it would be done after Orochi but it was only about half way!
