Gorgeous pose and the face expression. I find the claws a little bit too long.

Well this is bigger than the usual ACEOs I see you do and also the use of green is a nice twist of color choice. The color in this case going from olive on the body to the more emerald green mane that he has with top of the tail, and darker looking towards the top of the head. Also I think the pose along with the chain on his paw male clear indications of the fact that this is Link's character in Twilight princess. The other fact of interest though is he fact that this image is bold for the fact that not in the game or in your art usually do I see gender defining marks such as seen here as the sheath and balls showing; it adds a more true to life element that would be seen in like PBS programs. Now I am not sure if as imagery it implies mature content, but I like the way it just is all the same.

Yes, I have to make a few larger pieces since I am going to a convention in May. Anyways, yes, I always hate it when people draw a male animal character with no sheath! It makes no sense to me. But that is just my opinion.
Like you said also, since it is just like a PBS show, I don't think there is a need for mature content - after all, animals can't be charged with nudity since they don't wear clothing in the first place.

This a wonderful picture.
I think a Mature Content is needed here, as you can see the wolf's private part, and that might not be suitable for young deviants.

awaicu In reply to blomn [2012-04-26 23:50:07 +0000 UTC]

Thank you c:
I can see your concern in terms of maturity level, but I must say there is a huge difference between nudity in people and that in animals. Many nature shows that play on regular television (usually which are accessible to all age groups) show 'private parts' of animals as well as animal courtship/sex. So, in this case, I don't think that maturity warnings are needed since all male animals will appear as such in real life and need no censoring there. But I am glad you brought up the concern

Watercolour paints?
I only have watercolour pencils ;3;
and idk if they work with salt >3>"
And you're welcomee~

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

awaicu In reply to lunagriff [2012-04-27 06:00:00 +0000 UTC]

Yep. Watercolors are awesomesauce.
I have never used watercolor pencils so I am not sure if they would work with salt either. . but you could try - you would just need a lot of water on the pencil.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lunagriff In reply to awaicu [2012-04-28 07:06:26 +0000 UTC]

What brand of watercolour paints do you use then? I can never get watercolour paint tubes to work for me, only those block of colour ;3;

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

awaicu In reply to lunagriff [2012-04-28 16:57:43 +0000 UTC]

I am not sure, I use my mom's old watercolors though - they are the tube kind, but they are already squeezed into the pallet and dried out. They are gorgeous though - really rich vibrant colors and they work quite nicely with salt c:
I will see if I can ask her what brand she buys and note you with the name ^^

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lunagriff In reply to awaicu [2012-04-29 04:36:06 +0000 UTC]

So you're supposed to squeeze all the paint out of tubes into pallettes and let them dry out...?
That would solve a lot of my problems if so "XD
I'll have to try experiment with mine a bit more 8'D
Thanks!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

awaicu In reply to lunagriff [2012-04-29 04:39:01 +0000 UTC]

O.o Yes. . once they are dry you use them similarly to the paints that come in the little dried out discs. Just have a large container of water and a brush to pick up the pigment! Good luck

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lunagriff In reply to awaicu [2012-04-29 04:39:54 +0000 UTC]

Oh lord thank you. haha! I have like, 20 tubes and I've just tried painting with them as if they were paint. Gah! haha!
Thank youuuuuu, I'll have to try this tomorrow!! 8'D

Well, once the con is over I am planning on selling some art packs through DA of some of the things that didn't sell. . I am also planning on selling off the original of this piece. . I don't know what to price it at though, I am thinking somewhere between 35-40$.

Or maybe a signed copy will just magically show up someday O.o
