I've already said this plenty of times: It's all right, friend~ ^v^
Yeah, you're the first to catch that 'feminine+masculine' appearance that Balthasar has, so congratulations to you, my friend~! It was intentional, seeing as how I like to add elegance to my characters, as you might've seen already. XD
If you know me well, you'd understand how much I love these supernatural creatures that have been reported around our planet, regardless of the era they appeared in. >vo We don't know much about them, and that is why I love them~
NO Niv. >:u No blood for you. //slapped
Told ya that it'll take me a while to develop him. c; Now to figure out the colour of his flower....

oh, i see that, yes v ov~Β there's always something "noble" about your characters, i don't know o;
may be the setting they're all placed in, may be your drawing style v u v
the mysterious is always fascinating, isn't it? u//v//u~~
yes. there's always this sense of curiosity these things leave you ; o;
DD': why not!? look at dis, a girl can't even have fun with blood. >:I
well, i'll be patient then~
mm, the colors you've showed so far aren't confirmed then?Β i wonder if ya-te-veos have flowers, too v ov
do you have rough lines for his personality, even? i can imagine him as kind of hostile/not the most outgoing person, but i don't really know anything.

The setting is based on current times, Niv. - u- It's probably just my drawing style~
Hello~? The mysterious is my main reason why I love trying new things out~ My curiosity just cannot be satiated~
What I meant is that Balt drains life force out of the things that he entangles with his blood red vines. But there is a chance that he can rip someone apart for the bloodbath.... c:
Too bad that the sketch of the ya-te-veo is a sketch. - n- I'll just imagine them to have pretty colours/patterns then~
Rough personality lines....
How's about "socially awkward, curious, naive, yet protective"?

!! oh god i'm sorry uwh
then it's your drawing style, indeed~
i understand that, man v//o//v nothing more to add to that!
now THAT's much betterΒ ββ½β!Β wow im horrible hahahah
ah, i see then v -v
there isn't much to take from the pictures of the tree itself, i admit. but you'll come up with something, i'm sure > v >
hm. sounds nice~
i usually tend to start having an impression of a character by how the face and body communicate in the picture; so i automatically thought of him as the more nonchalant kind of character - o-
let's see. would you imagine him smiling often? how much would eventual sadness and worry show around people? the first expressions you would associate with him? that's what i ( subconsciously ) ask myself when i make up and develop characters v ov
i see what fits, or what i need for the story, and then it's like everything fits into place by itself!
also how about my hand slipped //

Axe-Cell In reply to Niveus-Automa [2014-05-09 23:57:43 +0000 UTC]
No need to be, Niv. - u- It's all good, considering that the same can be said for your amazing drawing style~
Hmm.... your questions have certainly got me thinking about his personality. Aside from asking myself questions about how my character(s) would react in a certain situation, I also 'get into their heads', in a sense, to try to think from their point of view regarding their decisions and how they get stuff done in their everyday lives.
Though I must admit, nonchalant certainly describes Balthasar quite well. > vo
Oh you. >:u

ghgh hdjhgfsstopffh<33
hmhm, that's the way i do it when i've already asked myself the questions i listed before, too.
i also imagine the "perfect poses" for them. if i draw a pose, i already know what characters fit into it.
again, i base myself on aesthetics and body communication rather than more accurate descriptions of their personality, behavior and choices. maybe because the impact is more immediate and keeps my memory clean on each of my characters when i've already drawn them.
i occasionally fill in a bunch of OC Memes without posting them, just to experiment v ov
filling OC Memes lets you look deeper in their heads as you try to do, yes~
it does? good, then~

It's the transformations that are overused. |D Thanks to a game series by the name of Monster Hunter, I have come to like biological abilities as much as magical abilities~
In that case, have fun, my friend. ^^ I seem to recall that you'd a couple of characters... or was that just my imagination?

A seedrian character! I don't see many male seedrians to be honest! That name is quite unique I must say~
Bloody vines? Sounds... Interesting...

I love his design, but most importantly I love his name. Heck, I named my car Balthazar. With a Z, but nonetheless.
The eye on his stomach, ahhh. I love it.
A seedrian, so rare~
π: 0 β©: 1
Axe-Cell In reply to Hyrosauce [2014-05-08 06:23:17 +0000 UTC]
Well, I'm glad that I'm not the only one who has something named Balthazar around here. XD
I'm glad that you like the eye on his stomach. ^^ It's not literally an "eye"... just a pattern of sorts to intimidate people with.
And don't tell me that you've not seen plenty of Seedrians around the Sonic fandom as well! You're the second one to say so, ya know? c:

BellamyRocks [2014-05-08 02:29:42 +0000 UTC]
Hmm, interesting character True, you usually DON'T see many male Seedrians so Balthasar will be quite unique (including his name, of course c: )
π: 0 β©: 1
Axe-Cell In reply to BellamyRocks [2014-05-08 02:36:02 +0000 UTC]
That depends on whether I can come across any other male Seedrian characters lately... or not. XD
Though... now that I look at Balt's design, he does remind me of a certain popular Creepypasta character... who could it be...? c;
π: 0 β©: 1
BellamyRocks In reply to Axe-Cell [2014-05-08 02:38:23 +0000 UTC]
For me, definitely not XD I rarely see Seedrians, let alone MALE Seedrians
. . . *ding!* I don't get it //doesnotlikemanyCreepypastas
π: 0 β©: 1
Axe-Cell In reply to BellamyRocks [2014-05-08 02:42:07 +0000 UTC]
What do you mean you rarely see Seedrians? XD There's a number of them around the fandom, though... males are strangely difficult to find. Mayhaps they think that guys and flowers/plants don't mix? By the way, what do you think of the Ya-te-veo? c:
Fair enough, I suppose. -u- I don't get why are they even considered "scary" at all. If they want some real supernatural horror, I'd dare these people to spend a night in a reputedly haunted house... alone. c;
π: 0 β©: 1
BellamyRocks In reply to Axe-Cell [2014-05-08 02:44:49 +0000 UTC]
I only saw 2 or 3 Seedrians... from the same artist XD Guys and flowers can mix ;A; It's the sensitive side!
Meh, some Creepypastas are meh and others... just... no. NO NO NO 1000x NO! //shrinks and hides under a table
π: 0 β©: 2
Axe-Cell In reply to BellamyRocks [2014-05-08 02:51:53 +0000 UTC]
Wut...? O-o I've seen plenty of Seedrian characters from a lot of Sonic artists around dA. Maybe you didn't look around enough? XD Though Balt isn't your average softie....
Seriously Bell, a number of those things on Creepypasta don't exist. -n- I may be into the supernatural and all of its creepy stuff, but Creepypasta just makes me yawn.
