More IPL sketch fun. This is me practicing for the splash battle I'm partaking in with *elgesugha . Basically it is a mightyena vs mightyena match in a mall that must involve tables, so it'll be interesting xDI have the piece itself already sketched out in SAI. The main focus is going to be the mightyenas, so they were really the ones I was working on fleshing out. Basically I wanted to make them easily distinguishable. Shaira is essentially very feminine in build and her colours are a bit less contrasting as her "black" areas are lighter and her "grey" areas are darker. Turkey, on the other hand, is a bit more contrasting, as he is in the ref for him, which is rather fitting because he's also a coward and thus "pale as a ghost"? xD He was also described as powerful, however, so I gave him a sturdy build despite his submissive/cowardly pose.
Also, their ears are different. Shaira's are longer and more elegant while Turkey's are smaller and a bit more rounded. Also take note of their differing leg markings =B
As for the other doodles, mainly just Rui and Peter practice. Peter is elgesugha's character for those who don't know, and the end image is just a little fun doodle. Lol, warning to everyone, do not call Rui a fortune teller. She hates that.

i love how you put so much personality and stuff into the characters~! it's so clear they're the same species, but very different animals at the same time. turkey looks so hyena-ish while shaira is very much more like a german shepherd. even the way you drew their manes/back fur stuff is different! turkey looks like he could use a good grooming or something.

Oh yay, you picked up on the german shepherd~ I wanted to get that effect with her ears =3 I actually based her on a mixture of german shepherd/brown hyena where as Turkey is a bit more striped hyena. Lol, and if you're scared all the time I don't think you'd pay much attention to how your fur is |D; Thanks for the comment <3

O: go me! it was the stance and the shape of the face as well as the ears that kind of made me think shepherd. you got it right on the nose! i like how many ways you can think of a mightyena looking. if i think about it, shiir is something like a doberman/husky cross.

Yus~ Really I think a mightyena can have a build similar to just about any typical dog breed you can think of xD I understand they are supposed to be based on hyenas, but really it's the mane that's the main thing there. That and the shape of the ear they typically have.
Which is great really, seeing that means they're really easy to get unique looks for each individual! xD
