seriously: if you removed the part covering the bust you would effectively have a minoan snake goddess dress. if you haven't looked into minoan fashion yet, there is some really cool stuff -- the only problem is that it covers everything except the bust...

If, as you say, you have the correct underpinnings, why wouldn't you strive for historical accuracy in the gown itself? I would love to see your research, for it looks rather like an amalgamation of several Victorian periods and their undergarments into a dress.
