I've just used his drawing and vectored it in Photoshop and coloured it. All done in the name of practice.

At last, it's done! Well, as far as I am concerned it's done.
I was going to put some ripples around the board in the water but had no idea how to go about it. Anyway, I want to move on to something else coz I feel I've learned all I can from this one and that if I kept finding things to add it will never ever be finished to my satisfaction.
The step-by-step process of this piece is in the scraps for anyone interested enough to check it out. For me this is a landmark. I have never tried something like this before and I am glad it turned out as well as it did. I have learned a lot from this I think I won't make the same mistakes I have done on this one. It will be all different mistakes next time.
Besides, I have a brand new pen and tablet that I want to get some practice with so the next one will probably be with pen and tablet, unlike this time where I did everything with the mouse.

I've seen this picture in a top cow swimsuit special once. She had a string bikini top with star fish over her nipples. Is this where the artist got his insperation.

haha... yeah this was drawn by Eric Basulda for the Topcow swimsuit special. I didn't like the starfish bikini top so I didn't include it when I drew this from that pic.

That's because it is Aspen. From Fathom. hehe... actually I just found that out myself too. No, I used a stock photo for the water (two pictures actually) and manipulated in PS until it looked the perfect shape and colour.

you did a nice job. lines are great but imo her skin shadows are a bit flat. and i think that you should mention that your beauty is based on Eric Basaldua's drawing.

I did mention at the start that I got the reference pic from a comic book. Don't know any other artists from Top Cow other than Michael Turner and Marc Silvestri so...

Long story. Short version is I didn't know how to draw nipples and tried to compensate with a translucent looking bikini top and ended up giving her something like a tan line. Hope I do better next time.

This is so reminiscent of the Vargas girls from way back when....I love the clean outline, and the subtle shading... Watching this from the beginning, I enjoyed each addition that was applied. I need to work on the lines as far as what I do on the computer. Not as smooth as yours.
