I haven't been to the zoo in Portland though students from my college take trips there from time to time during the semester so I'll have to plan a visit.
I started with a 200mm and there are tricks I've learned that helped me get closer to wildlife I could share.

Thanks! And for the in the industry hands on film production part you go to LA for a semester and learn right there. Of course I found out it's right next to the tar pits where the volcano erupts from in the, cleverly named, movie "Volcano". I grew up watching it, one of my favorite disaster movies next to "Twister".
I'm actually more excited to take photos of the area myself and Photoshop in lava and a volcano lol xD

Yeah there's a lot of ethical issues with Photoshop but in my case if anyone really believes there's a volcano in downtown LA, that's pretty much on them.
For most photos I go by journalistic standards which are extremely strict about keeping it a real as when you took the photo, colors, light and everything.
