-Please look in full view-This is the toughest project I've taken on. I've just finished the Dark Tower, and was inspired to draw the main character Roland. Who reminded me of my Grandpa.
This one goes out to my Grandpa. My love for westerns is in my blood.
This was all drawn on photoshop. It took me about three days.
I used only a mouse, the paint brush in photoshop and may layers. Nothing more, noting less.

What's funny is that I don't see Roland in this as much as I see the homage to an awesome old man who liked westerns. I may never had met you or your grandfather, but I feel like I perhaps jut made a couple of friends.
That in it's own way, is very neat.

I only use a WACOM tablet. Even so, I can't turn out quality like THIS. ^^ Anyone who can use a mouse like this breaks my brain.

Love the background, it's compostion is striking. The foreground is very blah-looking however.
The compostion of Roland however is supreb.

Awesome, my favorite series. The only thing that seems off is the gun. I dont know why but something seems off with it. Besides that it is amazing.

I think the guy who played Aragorn should play him (and Peter Jackson should so direct... not the guy from Lost) or the guy who played Van Helsing... I think they should play Roland of Gilead, Son of Steven. (had to type it like that)

I think Vigo Morrison would be perfect too. Dark Tower really would be in Jacksons field also. The Lost guy might do an okay job, but I think Jackson would make it timeless. Lastly, thank you so much for your kind words.

You've captured Roland perfectly... The best Roland pik I've come across on DA. By far. I've tried my hand at Roland but he's a very hard character to draw. He's got so much character to portray, and you've done this fabulously. (fabulous... of all the words how could I use such an un-Rolandy word...??)
I gotta say, The Dark Tower is so perfect for Marvel comics, but I agree with a film would be amazing.... LONG! But amazing...
