A snowy winter evening at the corner of Kurchatov Street and Feldesherskiy Lane in the old town of Simferopol (capital of the Republic of Crimea, Russia).

Thank you. Years ago I spent a few months living in an old house just behind this 15-century mosque, and it was an almost mystical experience. This area of Simferopol, as well as other Crimean old towns, has a special, quaint, Marc-Chagall-ish feel about it that makes it picturesque.

We are having an odd winter as well. We had a little snow, stayed on the ground almost a week, a little early for us. Then it went into the seventies, now it is the fifties and cold at night, strange!
