..What a wonderful world.---
RIFE in symbolism. This one bears a lot of explaining.
To start off with, the grey represents my ongoing struggle with post-traumatic stress disorder and related depression. Won't go into it more then that, but that's where I jumped from. The buildings symbolize the mundane, the normal dullness, the stale everything.
The male figure in the lower right hand corner symbolizes my body dysphoria: I identify (if you didn't know prior, you do now!) as Transgender male.
The color symbolizes three things: my art as a breakout from the haze of the depression, the positive sunny side of the direction I'm attempting to take my life, and my attraction to males.
The music notes, and the title of this piece, go back to that song, which has been a favorite song of mine since I was little, and I recently heard in a jazz club while out with a very beloved friend of mine-someone who sings my tune and supports and encourages me through everything. And the love I have for that person (you know who you are!).
The US/Medal picture...don't ask. That's personal. It represents service. Yep.

Thanks so much for saying so! I didn't intend it to be so personal starting out. More just a play with color vs. black and white, but it came out well. Hindsight 20 20, I wish I'd thrown charcoal in there, too.

Thanks! Yeah, originally, there wasn't as much noise in it as it came out to be in the end, although I knew I wanted the grey and the color. When I finished, though, and took a step back and looked at it, I thought, it needed levels. So, that's where I went.
