history: born in a small,, but rowdy household in the suburbs of seoul, south korea, soo-ri led a rather happy life as a child!! he and his parents were accompanied by two other children- both sisters, and both older than him- which led to quite a lot of chaos in their small apartment. soo-ri often felt like he didnt have a lot,, compared to the other kids in his class, but his parents (especially his father) always worked very hard to ensure that each of their children had food, clothes, education, and a roof over their heads.
when he was 13, his eldest sister left their home to pursue an education in the city. while she was still close by, her schedule was busy, so the times in which they were able to visit grew smaller and smaller. then, a few years later, his second eldest sister left the home- this time choosing to study abroad in canada. this left soo-ri stripped of his two closest friends, and he began to withdraw socially. he began spending most of his time in the cramped backyard behind his house, kicking around a beaten-up soccer ball- ignoring his parents calls to come in for dinner.
eventually, soccer turned into a passion for him, and he joined his high school's local soccer team as a goalie. he made a few friends, but kept them far away- never sharing or spending too much time with them.
