alright. so, this is kinda a weird piece and it's also kind of unfinished. but i don't know if i'll ever get around to finishing it or not, so up it goes!
the idea for it came out of no where and i haven't had many fresh ideas lately, so i ran with it, weird as it was. as i drew a really basic not-so-much-of-a-story came along so here it is, in it's very blunt and unembelished form: The Lonely Tale of Kabishmagish.

once upon a time there was a great war. all the people of a tiny villiage packed up to leave in search of a safer place to live. while the inhabitants of the villiage were on their journey, they were ambushed in the middle of a wood. everyone was killed except for a small boy who had hid as the attack began. now, the boy has grown up and has become the Wild Man of the Forest. he can no longer remember his real name and so he calls himself Kabishmagish. he lives alone and eats the raw fish he catches from the river. the woods are very old and other living creatures are few and far between so poor, lonely kabishmagish goes on from day to day, simply existing because it's all he knows how to do.
then one day kabishmagish sees a strange and rather unseemly creature slinking through the woods; it is a cat. it is thin and it's fur it patchy and a piece of it's ear is missing. at first kabishmagish is scared; he has never seen such an animal before. but after a while, he is glad to have the company of another living thing and so he bends down to address the unfortunate creature. "it's ok; i'm ugly too." he tells it. the cat assesses kabishmagish. whether the cat approved or not we can never know for sure (one never really can with cats), but we can suppose that he did because from that day forth he never left kabishmagish's side.
and kabishmagish was not so lonely any more.
