Description I did my best to capture the stars in the night sky in Maine. Mounting my camera on a tripod, I opened up the F-stop as wide as possible and set the shutter speed to as slow as possible. I used the timer and stepped back.

It was difficult to focus, but I don't think this was a bad effort for a first attempt... and scrambling around in the dark.

I may theive this from you and use it as a background.... I will, of course, do as I always do in the bottom right corner: add the name and site I got it from. but first, I need my laptop to stop being silly. borrowed a friends to catch up on Dominic and Crew... ^_^

Wow. That is truly amazing. What kind of camera did you use to take this?

A little more practice, and you could be in Sky & Telescope.

If you ever get the chance, I suggest you listen to the song 'Garden of God' from the Chrono Cross soundtrack... it fits this picture perfectly (and might give you ideas for the DD comic)

Very nice. You may try setting the camera to a 'bulb' setting and using one of the corded trips to hold it open. This takes a little finesse to balance between 'single dot' and 'line'.

As well, for focus, most SLR digital and film cameras should have an 'infinity' setting for the focus.

How countlessly they congregate
O'er our tumultuous snow,
Which flows in shapes as tall as trees
When wintry winds do blow!

It's rare to see a night sky like this in our modern era. wonderful work.
