This one did have a bit of photo reference some chick from some old fitness magazine I think way back in the dark ages. I had some trouble with the darker shading, looking a little flat and grainy. I was trying some different pencils. The heavier one was did not work well at all. The hair was all mine though and I like the way it turned out. I think the neck of her instrument on her back is probably too small and the proportion of the aerated leaf sword feels wrong, but I like her lighter colored leather armor and rosettes. Overall I like this one.Related content

Thanks, Eloise! Hearing such high praise almost makes me want to start doing art again. I haven't even set a pencil to paper in ages. Thank you. I guess when i look at it all i see is all the things I don't like about it. I guess I am just super critical of my own stuff. I am just good at quitting when the challenge of actually improving looks too hard I guess. Your encouragement does mean a ton to me though. Minstrel is one of my favorites of the ones I did have guts to show from my old drawing days.

MInstrell is one of my favorites, but I really haven't even touched a pencil to paper since the early 2000s. I am sure I could still do it, but barring learning Kage Bunshin no Jutsu, there just aren't enough hours in the day. Thanks though! I really do appreciate it.
