REUPLOAD

Not that anyone really noticed, but I took this out of my scraps not too long ago.

Mostly cause I was sick of it not having a proper story attached to it, and because I haven't been drawing lately, I've actually been trying to finish some comissions, but each time I try something happens that ruins it and I have to start again(I'm pretty much out of paper by now.)

So I wanted to submit SOMETHING, but won't let myself work on anything until the comissions are done. Its not fair to the comissee...or whatever they'd be called ._.;

So its a reupload, as well as non-canon in my stories, like Base's death.

Base had been making his way through Robotnik's base along with the other Freedom Fighters, having been split up what seemed like forever ago. They had gotten intel from Uncle Chuck, Base's adoptive father, claiming he'd been discovered and was working on finding a way to get out of Robotropolis until he could find a way back in, he remained unheard from for days after, and the Freedom Fighters went in search.

After the split up, Base had found himself alone, wandering the halls, and now, into a large square room with what looked like two way glass on one wall. The walls were bare save for the metal plates it was made of, a few wires hung from the ceiling.

"Good evening, RODENT!" Robotnik's voice came from what seemed like everywhere in the room.

Base drew his sword and stood at the ready,"You got the balls to take me on today, fat boy? Or you going to send your walking toasters for me?"

"Something....better....is in store for you dear boy, a little present I was hoping to give to Sonic, but you'll do." his voice dripped with malice and sinister joy, Base felt a knot in his stomach, he didn't like that tone.

One panel in the floor lowered from sight, Base poised at the ready, pressing a finger to his ear,"Sally, come in, its Base."

"I read you, what is it? What have you found?" her voice came back from a small device attached to his ear.

"I'm stuck in a room with a two way glass window, square, possibly sixty by forty, check Nicole for a room like that, I'm stuck here with something Robotnik's been saving apparently."

The floor panel returned with a robot standing on it, Base's eyes went wide,"Dad..."

The connection was lost, the earpiece's signal to Nicole cut.

Sir Charles' eyes lit up, red as blood and glowed like fire, he stalked at a power walking pace toward's Base.

Robotnik's voice came again,"Your foster father's had a change of heart, dear boy, and wants to squash you flat, the only way you live, is to kill him."

Base dropped his sword, it hit the ground with a loud clang,"Wha-?!"

Sir Charles' fist flew, connecting with Base's chest, sending him stumbling back, Sir Charles stalked towards him again, grabbing his neck and throwing him across the room.

Base hit the wall with a loud bang and slid to the floor, he checked his head; blood. He looked forward, he had double vision from the collision, his view slowly came back to normal, Sir Charles pulled back his fist, Base leapt forward, springing off Charles' head as the fist slammed into the wall, denting it inward.

Base landed on his feet, spinning around,"Dad! It's me! It's Base! Fight it! Don't you recognize me?"

Charles turned, coming towards him again,"Basey, boy, listen to me, I can't control my body, son. I have control over my ability to talk, and only that, you HAVE to do it boy."

Base stepped backward,"No, d-dad, no-"

Charles was closing in on him,"If you don't do it, I won't be able to stop myself, don't make me do this, Base, stop me!"

Charles broke into a sprint at Base,"STOP ME, BASE!"

Base's mind shifted quickly into defense mode, he leapt back, his sword in front of him, kicking the sword up in front of him grabbing the hilt, he froze, he couldn't do this.

Sir Charles seized his throat, hauling him off the ground, pulling back his fist,"NOW! DO IT NOW!"

Base swung hard, felt the hand release, kicking off the body to gain distance and he landing ungracefully on his side, skidding to a halt, he heard a clang.

He turned slowly, Charles body lay away from his head, a few loose wires dangled from where the head was removed from the body,"Dad...oh dear God...what have I done?"

Base crawled towards the head, he looked pathetic, Robotnik was eating it up.

"Look at him Snively! Broken, like the animal he is, broken!"

Snively adjusted his posture, feeling what felt like, resentment for his uncle, more than usual, this was war, but some lines you don't cross, forcing someone to kill their father was low, too low, Snively couldn't bring himself that low, and this only enforced his belief about his uncle; he wasn't a man, he was evil, and he meant that as a noun.

Base got on his feet, still crouched by the head, he picked it up, looking into the eyes, the metal lids closed over the eyes, he put his father's metal forehead to his, he breathed heavily, tears streamed down his eyes,"Dad...I'm so sorry, I'm so so sorry! Oh God....this isn't...this shouldn't have...not you, not by me."

The door slid open after the sound of a spark, Sally and the others stood there, they looked at Base, Sonic's jaw hung,"Unc."

Robotnik could be heard on the other side of the glass,"SWATbots! To sector four level D! NOW!"

Base noticed nothing, but only wept for what he'd done. Bunnie and Rotor ran to his side, Bunnie and Rotor each grabbing one of his arms, Base's eyes were red, and he was in shock, there was no sign in his eyes he saw anything or any one.

They had to escape, company was on the way. Rotor hauled Base over his shoulder, Bunnie stayed in the back as a rear guard, Sonic took point, tears streamed his cheeks, but anger fueled him forward. They found a way to a train, the same used when they had found Sir Charles first, getting on it and closing the door as they escaped.

Base was sat down on a bench, still in shock.

Rotor snapped his fingers in front of Base,"C'mon Base, snap out of it, c'mon man!"

Bunnie came up,"Lemme try Rotor, ah think ya'll need to be a bit roughah."

Bunnie's organic hand slapped Base across the cheek. Base dropped from the bench to his knees, his hands in fists, his body shook,"He made me.....he made me do it."

Bunnie hugged Base hard,"Let it out, sugah."

Base grit his teeth,"He made me...he made me."

Rotor looked to Sonic, Sally comforting him, Sonic was taking it differently, he was furious, his tears came. Base seemed like he wasn't quite gripping reality.

Base stood up, slowly getting from Bunnie's grip, going to the back of the train car, leaning his head against the metal back, he stood still.

Suddenly he was a flurry of punches and slamming his head against the metal of the back, punching, kicking, slamming his forehead into the wall, his roar echoed in the small car. Base stopped, stumbled backward and fell.

Blood dripped from his knuckles, from his forehead down his face,"That...fat...fucker...made me....kill...dad."

Sonic stood in front of Base, he hauled Base up, staring him dead in the eyes, unspoken words between the two, but each knew what the other would say.

Sonic embraced his cousin, Base hugged back,"Its not your fault, cuz. We'll get him, we will."

Base's tears streamed down his face.

The rest of the trip seemed to last forever, Base slipped in and out of conciousness from slamming his head so hard, in his sleep, he twitched and shook.

The Freedom Fighters watched him on the way back. What Robotnik had done to him mentally, Base may have done to himself physically.

They would have to watch him close from now on, trauma like this doesn't go away.
