Veejay had Ant slung over her shoulder, and they were making their way to the medical hut in the village, Jayden trailed behind, apologizing repeatedly to Ant's still and groaning form."I had no idea your back was healing from a previous injury, I'm so, so, so sorry!" Jayden said through glossy eyes.
Veejay looked over her shoulder and grinned,"Don't sweat it kid, despite the spinal injury that's probably the most affection a female's shown him since the ice age, eh old man?"
Ant only grumbled in response, he flicked his tail, and hit Veejay in the mouth, Veejay spat,"Augh! Cat hair!"
Ant chuckled weakly,"Kids todays, zey 'ave no wrist sporks."
Jayden raised her finger,"Respect, you mean?"
"Oui, zat it what I am saying."
Veejay rolled her eyes, At least he isn't questioning the whole 'grampie' thing.
"And what is zis about-"
Veejay shouted,"NO! End, right there."
Jayden covered her mouth to suppress a laugh.
Veejay got ready to kick open the medical hut door, he usual entrance, which usually ticked off the town medic, though Veejay enjoyed pushing her buttons.
Jayden rushed ahead and opened the door,"Shh, there's sick people in here."
Jayden kept the door open timidly. Veejay's brow raised, a feeling of deja vu setting in,"That sounds familiar."
Veejay entered, she put Ant down in a bed,"Yo! Windy! Ant's thrown his back out again!"
A female hedgehog came into the room quick and cupped a hand over Veejay's mouth,"'Jay, I'ma say this once. There's sick people here, so shh!"
Veejay's brow raised again, what was it Jayden had said at the door?
Windy turned to Jayden,"Uhm, I don't think we've met?"
Jayden straightened up and smiled,"Uh, sure haven't! Not me! Nope!"
Veejay poked Windy in the side of her head,"The kid here threw out Ant's back with the hug from hell."
Windy looked to Jayden,"Yeah, I heard the scream."
Jayden smiled weakly in response. For a moment Veejay thought she had it, that feeling of deja vu! It was-
Base walked into the hut, one eye bruised and holding his arm, a nurse trailed in behind with Magellan on a stretcher,"Uhm. Hey."
Windy turned and looked at Base,"Heaven above and hell below, Base! What did you do to yourself this time?!"
Jayden put a hand over Windy's mouth,"There's sick people here."
Windy pulled Jayden's hand away,"Are you mocking me?!"
Jayden shook her head quickly,"No ma'am!"
To stave off imminent madness, Veejay decided to focus on Base,"What the HELL happened HERE?!"
Base rolled his open, non-swollen eye,"Nothing...nothing at all, Vee-Jay...ouch..."
"ARGH!"
"Shush!" came the two females again.
"Sis! Calm down! We just got into a...discussion...is all..."
"A discussion...?"
"Yeah. That somehow...involved him...with a tree branch and me...with a bat, sorta..."
"In other words, you two got into a fight."
"LIES! ALL LIES! We just flung words at each other for five minutes!"
"Which somehow ended with him being cartered in here on a stretcher looking like he got sucked into a propellor and you looking like you went ten rounds with a bunch of winged dingoes?"
"............possibly." Base said smiling weakly.
Veejay cursed,"For the love of all things dead and alive, WHAT-"
Jayden and Windy shushed.
Veejay sighed,"What...happened. You know what? No, this is not going to be my problem. You promised you weren't going to thrash his fuzzy ass anymore!"
"Unless he did something where I needed to!"
"What did he do?!"
Base leant over and whispered into Veejay's ear, Veejay looked at him,"No way."
Base nodded. Veejay looked disgusted,"And you put the headband back on your head after you got it back?"
"I cleaned it in his drinking water, first."
Veejay sighed,"Good man."
Windy came over and grabbed Base by the arm he wasn't holding,"This way, mister! You better not have left him in a condition similar to the first time! If you think I was mad then-"
Ant groaned. Windy groaned and went to Ant,"Jeez, alright, old man, your back first."
Jayden came over slowly,"Um, I'll help, its my fault afterall?"
Windy sighed,"I'm a trained medic, miss, and-"
Jayden just set to work, Windy was surprised to see she knew what she was doing, and just went along with it.
Veejay watched, her mind slowly catching up to her again, So, Base's kid knows first aid and bone therapy? Man, the two of them move so fluently it's like...watching...the...same....person. Oh damn.
Veejay walked out of the medical hut quickly,"I NEED AIR!"

Alright, I've noticed I've been forgetting the copyright stuff lately, so it's coming back. Although here you can see when I drew Veejay I drew her so small she looks like crap, it looks lazy! I'm sorry!

I love the look. Period. The whole "OMFGWTFF?!" on her face and her dreadquills following suit XD
This can't be good for Base. Or Windy. Or Jayden in general XD!
Because, if I know my 'hog, Jayden's warnings will go totally unheeded. She will set Base up with Windy if it's the last thing she does and quite possibly might be the last thing she does set up prior to post-ENDGAME. This might actually be the 'dire consequence' Jayden hinted to if VJ got involved prematurely in hooking up her parents in this timeline...ergo maybe her involvement in the matchmaking eventually leads to her roboticization? Just a random idea, of course.
And to explain "Deiju"...
It's sort of a name I came up with for the Ancient Walker of Downunda - I figure there wouldn't just be solely 3 demi-gods that cover the world; each continent and province on Mobius would have their own interpretations of the Walkers, surely?
The dude's a Thorny Lizard with Echidna-like spines that wears a mask which resembles a saber-fanged Dingo. He possesses a digeridoo that sorta acts as his staff. He appears in visions and deep-sleep dreams mainly, usually providing an answer first, a rambling vine of a riddle second, a completely unrelated question third and a thump on the head with his didgeridoo fourth. Normally the victim of the vision wakes up with the hell of a headache and more questions than answers XD
"What did she be meaning by calling me 'Grampie' anyway?"
"Old man, if I told you, you'd tell me Deiju himself conked me in the head with his 'ridoo."
"...Zen I take eet, I am not to be asking for fear of losing what leetle sanitee I 'ave left, yes?"
"Exactemont."
"Deiju" is often spoken reverently, normally as a personal prayer before a battle and is never said as a curseword. Cursing an Ancient Walker is BAD juju, just so everyone's clear on that. Deiju tends to be viewed more as a sage by the older residents of Downunda, and as a riddler by the younger generation. Vee-Jay at this point is probably one of the only four or five of her team to have not experienced a dream/vision from him yet; others like Antony, Mikael, and even Windy have seen him before - many folks often change their ways and attitudes when talking about their experiences with him. He appears as a different emotion for everyone he tends to visit - for Antony, he was remorseful [Oliver's death]; for Mikael, he was contemptful [Magellan's actions against VJ]; for Windy, he was compassionate [When she had difficulty fitting in with the DFF after her rescue]. I figure Base wouldn't put much salt in Deiju's existance...maybe due to the fact he finds it a bit difficult to accept that "it's a lizard with echidna spines that wears a mask with big fangs...whut?!" XD

Veejay finds new determination from the whole situation,"As a good aunt, I should do everything I can to bring this relationship about...wait, what was it Jayden said before? I might play matchmaker and....light the fire? Yes! I will light the fire of romance for my bro!" Dun dunnnn!
Of course this will end up worse for Base than anyone else, you just know it, its how his luck goes. XD
"Alright, now stop fussing, Base and let me dress the wound properly!"
"Windy, its fine, I've had worse."
"I'm keeping this from being worse, we'll need to reapply ointment every four to six hours and-"
Veejay pops up,"I couldn't notice how when you tend to his wounds how gentle you are about it, you're faster than that, why do you take your time? But then again, you do it so lovingly-"
"Windy! TOO TIGHT! CIRCULATION CUT OFF!"
"Mrrmble..."
Though I think Jayden just being there will probably land Veejay in that sort of trouble, the child came back without realizing that just going back to the past and messing around still has concequences that change the past, like getting throttled by your aunt when you return cause she has new memories of you being a pest. XD
I think at first description Base would just shout,"PREDATOR'S REAL?!"
Earning him a whap on the noggin for his troubles. XD
No, Base would believe it, afterall, he is possessed by a god of chaos, which is probably like third tier in comparison, and should Base have a vision I'm sure that would make it interesting altogether.
"Basic Azure Hedgehog. The sword guides you through the dark world of magic. Fear the horned mix as his powers cannot be controlled in this world. Do you have any gum?"
"Are you...trying to be funny?"
"It breaks the tension." WHAP!

Being that that sort of meeting would take place in an astral plane Jo's markings would probably appear on Base's face as the first sign of possession. I really need to get around making the story where Knux has to bring Jo down on the Floating Island. ._.;
