Description My old reconstruction of the skull of Sue was quite bad, so I updated it. Lion for scale.

Is it called Jaw bone cavitation?

Im reading it now and it says its a condition when the bone doesnt get enough of a blood supply.

They discovered an incomplete T.rex skeleton that is estimated to be far larger than Sues.

There's a supposed one of those every year or so. They always turn out smaller.

Scotty and Sue are both pretty much the same size i.imgur.com/B3CQnnwg.jpgΒ its just Scotty has larger and thicker weight bearing elements such as its femur hips and shoulder bones. Scotty does surpass Sue in quite a few measurements Fran did do a spreadsheet that listed all the skeletal elements where Scotty surpassed Sue but I can't locate it at the mo.

Dit doet me ergens wel twijfelen aan dat hele "grote theropoden zouden mensen niet aanzien als prooi omdat ze te klein zijn" gedoe.

Batavotyrannus In reply to Dontknowwhattodraw94 [2017-12-27 13:58:39 +0000 UTC]

Ja daar klopt waarschijnlijk niks van, we zijn minder moeite dan 99% van grotere prooien.

I thought SueΒ΄s skull was like 1.53-1.58 m when uncrushed, with 1.44m being the crushed state it is in.

TheBatmeme368 In reply to Corallianassa [2018-06-19 22:58:59 +0000 UTC]

Reconstructions differ, and there are some in that ballpark, others tend to favour the 144 cm figure.
