Description I wanted to come back to DA when I felt like I had a good enough/recent enough picture to come back with. Today was one such day, as I went through a Black and White Photo Challenge over at Facebook and decided to do something related to Dick Tracy. I don't know why, as I could have easily gone with a Golden Age Batman or Superman type shot to recreate the black and white era, but something about Dick Tracy always pulls me in, especially thinking about the dark and dirty and gritty noir films RKO did in the 1940s with the character (first with Morgan Conway, then with Ralph Byrd, who'd played Tracy in the 1930s film serials and later on television).

This is really good
It's cool you went with Dick Tracy since it's not used a lot.

Dick Tracy is that rare ficitonal character who's been played by more than one guy and I like all of them. Morgan Conway, Warren Beatty, and Ralph Byrd in that order. My family owns all the movies and serials.

I think I like the two Conway movies the most. Ralph Byrd looked more like Dick Tracy but Conway embodied the character more in his two turns. His second where he was against Cueball is my absolute favorite. And of course, I was the right age to fall in love with the Warren Beatty version and it made me a fan at the right time.

THAT'S EXACTLY HOW I FEEL! :^D Ralph Byrd fits the look, but he never really impressed me the way Conway and Beatty do in terms of playing the character.

One of my oldest memories is going to a Cracker Barrel with my family and there was Dick Tracy toy baggies and dolls of some of the characters for sale.

Man I wish I could have gone to that Cracker Barrel!

Mezco made these little SD figures of more of the Tracy characters. I keep meaning to pick those up

Cracker Barrel is still around and still cool, but it depends where in the midwest you are.
