Description
My depiction of SoI-002 (Species of Interest 002), an enigmatic alien race in the SCP Foundation's expanded universe that is (or was) affiliated with the "Church of the Second Hytoth". This is the first entity I have drawn from the Foundation's roster that isn't given a mainlist SCP designation (though it is still strongly connected to at least two of them), so expect me to draw plenty of other anomalous/non-anomalous entities and creatures in the Foundation's universe that lack SCP designations alongside the ones that do. I even made a unique format for these types of undesignated entities.

For those who don't know, the Church of the Second Hytoth is a galaxy-wide religion surrounding a central deity known as "Rakmou-leusan". A number races, including parts of humanity, follow this religion, and there is an entire alliance of Ortothan acolyte races inhabiting the Terzan 2 globular cluster. But the most enigmatic group of Ortothans mentioned in the church's hub is SoI-002, a currently nameless alien race predating humanity that possess psionic capabilities. At least two items are known to have a direct connection to SoI-002; SCP-4431 and SCP-2651. The former is inhabited by cybernetically and genetically augmented members of the species that are unable to live longer than 11 hours. The latter is inhabited by the "ghosts" of deceased SoI-002, which continuously perform Ortothan rituals even beyond the grave.

The reason why I decided to draw these guys is because I absolutely love their design and concept. There's only one illustrated depiction in the wiki itself (which can be seen in SCP-2651), but the design itself is simple yet delightfully alien. I wanted to expound on the design with guidance from the descriptions seen in both SCP-4431 and SCP-2651. There's a strange appeal and sense of anthropomorphism to the pose they are presented in, despite their non-humanoid body plan. The way they position their legs and raise their arms in the image almost looks like a meditative pose. I tried to replicate that meditative pose with my take as well. These dudes are absolutely beautiful, in their own fucky space bug kinda way.
