Another Geisha image from my latest with ~josephcorsentino ...This one shows more of the prosthetic and back detail. The model's hair decided it needed to be in a pony tail rather than behave and stay under the bald cap as planned. Improvisation number 327 for the day. Did a much better job of "going with the flow" than the Pyre Fire Elemental.....
Super help on this build/shoot came from ^quietchildae , ~StuftZombie , ~Zathros and bodypainter Donna Hofstee.
Sharp eyes can see I covered the back of the ball cap - one of those instances where it is smarter/easier to work WITH what a material wants to do rather than fight it.
The nape of the neck is edible gold glitter. I LOVE LOVE LOVE how this shoots... so be warned... I've got glitter and I know how to use it!

Gelatin is easy to mold - I used mostly cake decorating molds for this project.
There are some hand-made molds done with 2 part silicone, but you can work your way up to that.
Here's the first gelatin kit I started with:

I make up a whole batch and pour it onto an old glass tray from a dead microwave.
Then, cut up squares and melt as needed.

I am astounded by how beautifully the elements in that photo come together- you did amazing, I'm so inspired! I wish I could see more shots of the prothetics-they are so detailed. I've always wanted to try my hand at that..great work!

I believe more images may be released with Joseph Corsentino's next Time of the Faries book.
The pieces are gelatin - it is very easy to work with and very inexpensive.
A real good place to start if you want to try SFX.

Yeah, I can't complain too much about the final result... just the process to get there.
Good news is, I'll have another go at the prosthetics with this same team.

When Joseph's done, she will be a Faberge style clockwork trinket for some aristocrat's curio cabinet.
He uses my work as a foundation for his own flights of fancy.
