The legs were actually made in Bryce. They don't look like it but they are all boolean objects. Thanks for the comment though.

Please note that all submissions into the Twelve Months of 3D calendar must incorporate at least one piece of digital content provided by DAZ Productions through the DAZ Online Store , bundled with the 3D Starter Bundle , or included with DAZ|Studio . In addition, the description for your submission needs to contain all of the information laid out in the contest rules .
As of right now, I see no indication that you have done so, which means your submission may not be elligible for consideration. Please review the contest writeup and adjust your submission so that can be considered for the contest.
You should also note that the contest rules specify that the high resolution version of submissions must be 12 inches by 12 inches. Your low resolution submission here does not have a 1:1 aspect ratio. You might want to revise your submission so that it adheres to the contest rules more closely and you do not end up being disqualified on technicality. Review the contest writeup for more information.

I used Bryce to model and render this...which is a DAZ product and is sold in their store. Also, I'm currently rendering the high-res version of this at 3600x3600 per the contest rules. It's going to take forever so I decided to submit the smaller version just to get my pic in the contest. Thanks for the comment.

The contest stipulates that you must use digital content from their online store; Bryce is an application, not digital content.

Actually, you can disregard what I said in my last comment about needing to include DAZ digital content. I got a clarification from DAZ today that they are including Bryce renders in the scope of the contest. You still need to note what I said about the image's dimensions, however.

I really like this render, its some of the best Bryce boolean modeling I've ever seen... I hate to break it to ya, but if you win you'll have to render it at 3600x3600 as the contest calls for a 12"x12" image @ 300 dpi.

Wow, this is insanely cool. Awesome job, and I love the contrast to the main part of its body from the legs.

Actually I'm network rendering this with my laptop and desktop. Should render much faster.

very nice, i like the plastic wrap around the legs. i think you should work more on the body though, the detail is very different from the legs, i think it would be cool to go with the plastic wrap around it as well with a lot of mecanical stuff underneath.
keep it up!
