This is actually a pretty cool kraken design. I'm not sure about the smaller tentacles though, they look kinda werid. I imagine this is the MonsterVerse equivalent of Gezora or Oodako.

The smaller tentacles were there to give the kraken something distinct to make it look like sn actual monster and not a ballooned up squid in a shell. I looked to the Nautilus for inspiration.

Yeah, the concept art with the weird squid thing was unrelated to the Kraken. The Kraken in the novel was a cone-shelled squid. Like a Camerocera.

I didn't base this guy on the concept art. I just kinda took the basic idea and modified it a bit. None of the Camerocera designs came out looking right. They refused to look anything other than silly.

Never occured to me what sort of "original" spin you could put on this guy since the book just makes him out as a huge Cameroceras but you rose to the challengeΒ Β

Umm, in the book, it was mentioned that Kraken's shell spiraled upwards, so he pretty much was an Ammonite on steroids.Β

i can imagine the Kraken has truly exceptional camouflage abilities, capable of changing texture, all colors, general shape, it can even become completely invisible and it can mimic a rotting cephalopod corpse, all this combined with it's inconceivable intelligence and potential hypnotic abilities can result in perceptual camouflage, where the Kraken cannot be detected even by hearing, olfactory and tactile senses, it can make anyone think the Kraken is gone/dead when in fact it's not, only larger Kaiju can resist the Kraken's hypnosis albeit it takes an huge effort to resist it, the hypnotic waves come from the suckers on it's head, it can regenerate from even the deadliest injuries.
when it comes to offensive abilities the Kraken can attack with it's tentacles, the suckers have sharp but barely visible teeth that can release a corrosive venom, it can give off deadly flashes of radioactive light from it's entire body, plus it's perfect invisibility can be used for sudden attacks, any detached tentacles can still attack for many minutes and can still become invisible, it can spit a highly colorful ink from it's sharp beak, the ink is psychically controlled by the Kraken thanks to it's multiple brains, the ink can even become invisible and give off deadly light, plus contact with the ink can cause a dangerous mix of sensory deprivation and sensory overload on anyone including larger Kaiju.
