Speaking from personal experience, you have made something that proves we can't judge what is beneath our clothes. That you can never tell and the best thing we all can do is just ask how they see themselves.
The lines seem a bit sketchy, telling me the person in question is conflicted, while the color tells me that the person was in someway hurt. As though this person continues to question what it is that defines. May like make-up, but also enjoys sports. Once fell in love with a woman, but also harbored feelings for a man. Wishes to be protected, but at the same time wishes to protect. These traits overlap all of us, and though some are more dominant in one gender it doesn't mean they aren't dominant in the other. In fact, its sad when people get criticised for feelings that seem atypical of the group as a whole. Like someone is a fault in the perfect system, a fault that needs to be repaired or replaced. But that only leads us to ask who are other people to say who we are.
Oh well, I get a little deep in subjects sometimes. but I will always believe that gender is just a way one identifies themselves. And is something no one can take away from you.

You are welcome, and trust me that a long comment equals a passion for the picture and what it represents. Even something as subtle as the choice of lines and color mean something important. To say this is a "nice pic" doesn't justify the heart you yourself put into the pic. And if I can add something else. The one without color really didn't have the same heart or sense of confusion, kind of like the person was just there and not truely conflicted of how s/he identified itself. This one is definitely a better one and glad you added the background.
Again, sorry for not to many comments.

I'm glad, it's really nice to get a comment like this, apart from just being happy you made the effort to type out so much which is a huge compliment, it's really helpful for me to work out what to keep on doing and such.
On the commenting it's perfectly okay!

I'm glad you agree, because I (as a viewer and fellow artist) need to help you just as much as you helped me. Everyone of us need to learn our limitations and what we are able to do. As well as know how are work effects others. So for lack of better understanding, to post an art is an exchange. And your price for your heart is mine, so that we both can understand our own hearts. I guess it makes what we do more important if you think of it that way. Kind of like how both men and women need to understand each other in order to mature, and that transgenderism is more like what it means to understand both sides of the universe

I applaud you for your progressive take on gender politics. The binary gender system can no longer describe the psychosocial variety of gendered humans.
As for the character looking both male and female... Truth be told, it works fine until one's eyes fall to the hips. Their curved widening underneath a lithe waist is definitely feminine. Very, very feminine.

Thank you, I get a bit worried about uploading things like this incase I accidentaly offend anyone.
Ah, I was a bit worried about that myself. I need to work a bit more on hip/body shapes, it's a bad drawing habit.
