Description A stencil I've been slowly working on for about 3 months, based on a photo I took of Brisbane at night. [link]

It's roughly 1.5 metres wide, and done with 3 layers (although I had trouble spraying the white layer and had to re-cut and re-spray it )

This is only my 2nd attempt at stenciling and it's far from perfect, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out... except for maybe the water.

Hi,

great stencil! Huge! I would like to invite you to our new art plattform named TapeRay. ItΒ΄s a wall art community and many artists from deviantart already there.

In our community you as an artist decide the price for every Artwork! You as an Artists can upload artworks and we are producing wall decals in any size for the customers. You decide of your own how much you want to earn each time we sell your artwork!

And there is no point where you have to pay anything for earning money. You could do with your artworks anything else, also if we convert them to vector graphics for you. We are art enthusiasts of our own!

If you have any questions you can contact me marcel@taperay.com or just have a look at [link]

Because your artworks are verygreat and we really want them on TapeRay you can also upload pngs, jpgs or what ever you want. I will convert them to vector grahics.

Thanks, Cheers, Marcel

You must have a lot of patience! It's awesome. I don't think that there is anything wrong with the water, it's actually my favourite part of it.

Holy shee-it! This is unreal. The amount of cutting & lining up of layers in this one is unreal. Really makes me want to push things to the next level myself.

beckenslobber In reply to skillcrane [2010-12-19 22:50:19 +0000 UTC]

Ah yes, many months were spent cutting this out and it took hours and 3 pairs of hands to line up each layer just because of the sheer size of the stencils. This was only my 2nd attempt at stenciling so I definitely think you should take it to the next level with yours!

I can tell that so much time & effort went into the piece. I wish I had the patience to do something that epic. The fact that it was only your second attempt at stenciling is astonishing. Once the new year comes around I have 2 pieces I'm planning on working on right off the bat, one is a 6 layer & the other one is 9. If I can pull those off, I'll definitely be off to a start.

That looks fucking unreal! Seriously, you must be very pleased! And dude what is wrong with the water? nothing! NOTHING!!

beckenslobber In reply to katherine06 [2010-03-16 09:27:35 +0000 UTC]

yeah I'm pretty happy with it I guess. and I see what you mean now about the 'mouse' colour looking purple! the white they gave me is 'jaws', which has a green tinge but you can't really notice it in this photo. as for the water, I couldn't be fucked cutting it all out again in the white layer (after I'd already cut it once before and had it fuck up with the cheap white paint), so it's incomplete and it's all I can see when I look at it! haha

Oh really? You seriously can't tell. I always hate that though with all my stencils... In the end when I look at it all I can focus on is where I've fucked it up and I don't get why it's not incredibly obvious to everyone else haha.

YES! I guess we're both perfectionists then? it's the same with my drawings. people think I'm just being modest, but I'm honestly never really happy with anything I draw because I only pay attention to the fuck ups. haha. oh well. better than thinking everything I create is the best thing since sliced bread, or however that saying goes....

katherine06 In reply to beckenslobber [2010-03-23 14:18:31 +0000 UTC]

Haha I agree. I do hate when people think their work is the shit. Nothing is better than sliced bread damn it. I am such a hypocrite though. I get angry when other people are being perfectionists because I can't understand what their problem with it is. I think we both need to learn to keep our mouth shut and not point out the mistakes t other people haha.

sliced bread is pretty damn good. and we're quite obviously both hypocrites, so yes we need to keep our mouths shut and just accept the compliments. so... thank you

Anyways, it's a beautiful stencil!

(And I can't spot a single thing that's wrong with the water.)
