Anyway, the typical portrait closeup of a yet unfinished fullbody drawing. Which you won't see for a while, as I'm going on a holiday abroad very soon, and I won't take with me a A3 drawing and the 20 colored pencils which I need to finish this. Time to finish some graphite drawings... Then I'll finish this when I come back again.
So, yet another red fox. I like drawing them, OK? Simple as that. And foxes with winter fur are just beautiful.
Colored pencils on A3 - but this closeup is some 8cm * 9 cm. Ref by Menno SchΓ€fer from wildlifereferencephotos. ~10 hours til now.

Nice composition! I love the look in the eyes of the fox, suggesting that it feels happy and content at the moment. Just the eyes make this picture much more lively and I must say that you absolutely nailed them. The snow on its nose makes me wonder if the fox is happy about the snow... I like especially how you drew the ears, as they make the fox seem constantly on alert and giving live to the picture. I can't really say what to improve because you already made such an superb drawing. Perhaps correct a bit the form of the mouth region, but I guess this will definitely happen in the finished version. Nice work!

The detail is incredible. I especially love the small bits of snow on her snout. I wonder if she got it from sniffing around in the snow, or whether it recently snowed, but the snow just stuck around on her nose longer than on the other parts of her body. The lighter colour in the fox's eye and the way in which her jaw is curled, suggests she is a very content fox, so great use of lighting and line there.
It is incredibly hard to say if there is anything you could improve, although, the nose does appear like it could use more lighting, because it looks like it's a solid black colour, even though I would say a canine's or a feline's nose would be more reflective than this. Then again, in a larger picture, this little bit of the fox will probable completely disappear, so it's not a big deal.
