Watched Rise of the Guardians yesterday, it was pretty awesome, i really enjoyed it. I'm really glad to see how many of the animated features this year are all so equally well done, there is going to be a good competition for Oscar 2012. It's most likely going to be between Paranorman, Wreck it Ralph and Rise of the Guaridans. Brave wasn't bad, but it didn't really hit the spot for a lot of people. I have my money on Paranorman, it is going to be really nice to see Laika taking it this year.So here is a fan art I did for Guardians, Sandy (Sandman) was one of my favourite in the movie, aside from the badass Santa (North). Here is my question, does anyone know if Sandy's a guy or girl?? I asked my friend Jchu and she doesn't know either, hmmmmm )

If there is one thing I learned from this movie is that Sandy is NOT to be messed with. Dude can make a dinosaur out of sand, who else do we know can actually make a big ass dinosaur from sand and squash you with it?

In truth, I was disappointed when I saw Brave, not feeling that epic Pixar feeling in the theatres; more like another princess movie we had already seen before. Nothing new; not even her going on an epic adventure as the trailers made it look (deceiving). This movie and Wreck It Ralph were both much better than Brave in my opinion. I don't know what the stupid Oscars

Love it! It's so beautiful and golden and I really dig how ya handled the sandyness of the sand! And Sandy's expression looks so badass here XD Albeit being uber cute too. The colours are lovely and the lighting and atmosphere is fantastic. Love your painting style with the way you handled the brushstrokes! Awesommme!

The full name is Sanderson Mansnoozie...but apparently the Man in the Moon brought this person to life from a single grain of sand, so I guess that means Sandy's genderless...?

I thought he was a solitary man that specialized in dreams, especially children's dreams, the kind that ward away the darkness that Pitch brought about and MiM made him a guardian with the help of dream sand so he could reach all the children of the world with his dreams through dream sand.

I'm assuming Sandman is a man, due to the fact he has 'man' in his name, and they often refer to him with male verbs.
When Sandy tried explaining to Jack why he was at the North pole after being shoved in a sack and being thrown through a magic portal. Jack says he can't understand the whole 'talking through sand thing' and ends it with "Thanks little man"
