Background: Autumn was born outside of Ponyville in the Apple family Orchards. She and her twin sister, Tangerine, where welcome newcomers to the Apple family. Fluttershy and Applejack were enthusiastic parents, and Autumn had a busy childhood full of guitar lessons, hockey, apple picking, and family trips. Both twins were always doing some new activity, and Flutter and Applejack were very encouraging.
However, living on the Apple orchards did have one downfall. The Everfree forests bordered the farm, and though Fluttershy could stop most animals from bothering the ponies sometimes particularly vicious beast would get past her. Applejack had dealt with Timber wolves her whole life after they brutally murdered her parents, and unlike her wife, didn't hesitate to stop any trespassers with violence. On one such occasion Autumn was witness, and received her cutie mark.
Applejack felt guilty that her daughter had witness her kill a living creature, especially as this influenced her special talent. Autumn was enamored with the idea of protecting Ponies, and despite Fluttershy's protests, trained to become a monster hunter. Autumn left the Apple family Orchards to train under Tempest Shadow in Canterlot. This created a lot of tension in the family, especially between Autumn and Fluttershy.
At eighteen Autumn is somewhat of a prodigy, already having hunted her fair share of monsters. She still visits Ponyville to visit but her interactions with her family can be stilted.
