Another princess! Man, I can't help myself.This is a spread for a story I'd like to do one day. It's a twist on the Frog Princess, with the frog being evil and making the princess sign a contract to eat her food, sleep on her pillow, you know. Fun story.
I did this about 9 months ago, and it's still one of my favorite spreads. Although something about it never looked quite right. I couldn't figure it out. And then one day I flipped the canvas and gasped. The picture is CROOKED! It leans right. I've always had a bit of a problem with leaning art, dang it. Here's the morality tale for me: always flip the artwork to make sure it looks right!
This was done in Painter with captured acrylic brush. Very fun variant.

hahaha. I think in the original boards I had, she kicked the frog out of her palace after he wanted a kiss. Man. That makes me want to return to this project.

It does look right out of a storybook, and makes me want to know the rest of the story. I love the vines on the rail back there.
And yeah, flipping pictures helps a lot. Mine look perfect until I flip them, and then it looks like one of those warpy fun house mirrors X-D

That is really wonderful! I love these twists in fairytales to make them scary and evil. That's how I believe that the best horror movies are. I love her face, though, she looks so cute! <3
