Description My doodle has come to life! *insert evil laugh*
I've been working on this for a while.

Fun Ghoul is the name of the Gastly from my dead gold game. Out of respect (and laziness) I didnt change it since the comics based off him and Disco the hoothoot.

When playing it annoyed me very much that lick was the only attack gastly had for a while, therefore comic.

Well internet hope you like it. Feedback appreciated.

oh, and pokemon belongs to the pokemon people, not me, ect...

And thanks for the fav!

Thanks, I got the name because I was reading The Great Gatsby and on the internet, saw a Pokemon parody called The Great Gastly, from then on, my Gastly had to be called Gatsby, the more I used him, the more the name stuck and seemed appropriate. Glad you like the name, and a piece like this, by the way, is a sure fire way to get faves, because it is so good.

yeah I've read (most of) that book. I kinda figured thats where the name was from. I didn't know there was a pokemon parody. The name really does suit Gastly, its kind of an old fashioned name and the letters are similar. Thanks. ^_^

Sorry I thought that was too obvious and was thinking symbolism.

No, your not stupid for that, when you do Literature and stuff, to be open minded think of all sorts of things (symbolism especially I'd say)is to be expected as the norm. Really, he could be what ever, though Gatsby is a cool character, I even did a Deviation of my Gengar dressed like Gatsby (I'll admit is isn't my best), but all in all, I just think of him as that third pokemon I caught on Heart Gold who went on to be a champion and all around awesome Gengar, not really the ghost of anyone.

My class covered the book two years ago and we went over the symbolism and all that. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have thought of it precisely in that way.
Aww. Im gonna imagine you staring off dramatically for that last part.
Oh, and I caught may Gastly third too. Whats the rest of your team?

Ronip In reply to beverly546 [2012-07-20 00:25:16 +0000 UTC]

*Stares of Dramatically*

My original team on Heart Gold was Chikorita first, Hooth (my Hoothoot) second and then Gatsby third. Then came Mareep and Togepi. The Sixth spot was never taken by anything properly, but after Ecruteak City and Morty, Togetic (as Togepi now was) was replaced with a Growlithe. Eventually, the main candidate for number six was Raikou, I caught him early on after lots of hunting. When I beat the league first time, my team was Meganium, Hooth (now a Noctowl), Gatsby (the hardest part was when I had to trade him to evolve him and his friendship reset), Ampharos, Growlithe and Raikou. This team stayed with me until I beat all the Kanto leaders. Growlithe eventually became an Arcainine after I got a Fire Stone.

I played soul silver version, but played Gold more recently so i'll use that. I picked cyndaquil (f, tiki, but thinking of changing it back to Rin). Hoothoot (f, Disco), Gastly (m, Fun Ghoul), Mareep (f, wolf), Nidoran (m, Party PSN), and Seel (m, Faust) make up the rest of the team. Everyone but Tiki is fully evolved, excluding evolutions requiring trade or stones. I had a gyarados (f, Riot) on my team for the bit (not the red one, it fainted), but faust replaced it because i'll need some ice type moves for the elite four.
I just beat the last johto leader, its kinda slow going on gold. I played white last night (this morning) and it seems like the grow a lot faster. Theres also a lot more moves that can be learned and they're usually more powerful.

I fancy getting White, looks the better if the two, but I don't really like many Gen5 Pokemon (besides the starters, dragons, legendaries and Cyrogonal) and Unova look a dodgey region. You know, when you beat the Elite 4, you will be able to have another shot at catching the Red Gyrados. Also, interesting team, never really seen anyone use a Seel on their main team, cool idea. I really quite like my Platinum team as it is now, that has my Empoleon, Luxray, Bibarel (yeah, I kept him from the start and made him a champion), Bronzong, Gabite and Giratina. My Vespiquen was on that team for along time, but I replaced it with an Abomasnow and then replaced that with Giratina. I am temped to use all legendaries just to be super cool though.

beverly546 In reply to Ronip [2012-07-21 01:08:18 +0000 UTC]

I'm not overly fond of gen 5 pokemon either. i tried to pick the ones that looked good and met my type requirements. I ended up with Serperior (m, Sir), Liepard (f, Muerte), lampent (f, Eleya), Krookodile (m, Gaara), Swanna (f, Aurora), and Zebstrika (m, Blitzkrieg) who i replaced with Zekrom (Noir).
After the game "ends" you can catch pokemon from other regions though. Some other routes open up and everyone has lv 60 pokemon (wild are about lv 40-50) and the elite four has lv 70. So its like "what the heck, Im only around lv 50!"
Ooh yay! still lake of rage?
Well sells a dew gong now, I think they're pretty. That and when my dew gong on soul silver learned ice beam it allowed me to beat the elite four. I have a drawing of Faust in my gallery.
Cool team. I don't care much for bibarel or bronzong though. just my opinion, Id prefer steelix or a scizor for a steel type. I've never had the patience for bibarel or any other normal types. I hear they get pretty strong though. I love luxray though, mine's named L.

With the Gen5s, I think I'd choose Oshawott, because it ends up as a samurai otter, which is cool as hell. Then I think I'd rely on Haxourous and Hydreigon and Zekrom, the rest would be from other generations. What I don't like is how you can catch fully evolved pokemon other than bugs, especially the pseudo-legendaries, I think a 'a wild Dragonite' or 'a wild Tyranitar has appeared' would take a lot of the fun and satisfaction raising those Pokemon from their first stages brings. Evetually, I will try Gen5, but I think right now, content and feature wise, Gen4 offers the best and most.
I think your team has some cool nicknames there, 'Blitzkrieg' is an especially cool name, sadly it is only a Zebstrika... One of my least favorite Gen5s. Also, I caught the Bidoof to see if I could raise it as a strong pokemon, given how universally shunned it is and not make it an HM Slave. I made it strong... and an HM Slave, but it is a Sinnoh Champion now, it isn't complaining. Bronzong is awkward to raid admittedly, it is too defensively orientated to level up, but it does make a good Psychic type and is especially good when you need to play for time (to revive Pokemon or something). Also, Luxray is one of Pokemon's greatest creations, Luxio is less so, but Shinx is so damn adorable. I am never happy when I need to leave Luxray in the box.

I like oshawott, its pretty cute. I don't like how the last one uses four legs instead of two like its other forms.
i like Hydreigon a lot. I didn't really see it though. Apparently you can catch it at victory road but I have yet to see it. I caught the 2nd form of haxourous (can't recall the name) though.
I agree, Its probably better to train the pseudo-legendaries yourself. Let them know the hardships of training a dratini whose only attack is wrap.
I like the haeertgold/soulsilver versions best, out of the new games. Sinnoh region wasn't bad, platinum was fun, but soul silver was full of nostalgia.
BLiztkrieg is my normal electric type name. Really its meant for Jolteon, i have a mantric with that name though. Zebstrika isn't that bad (I like the stripe design), but zekrom is a lot better though. I keep forgetting its part dragon type and keep sending it out with ice types, probably because its black and looks like a dark type.
Strong and an HM slave. lol.^_^
I'd expect bronzing to have a good defense, being part iron type, but it should have a good special attack too since its psychic. It would be good for lengthy battles, like if you're planning to use a timer ball.
And yes, luxray's awesome!

Ronip In reply to beverly546 [2012-07-22 00:45:27 +0000 UTC]

I just think that Samurott is the most awesome on the gen5 fully evolved starters, a samurai otter, need I say more, quadrupedal or not, it is super cool.
Fraxure is Axue's second stage.
I agree, Heart Gold was a mayjor nostalgia blast, but the inclusion of gen 3 and 4 made it even better, walking through Goldenrod with my Salamance is a special pleasure. Platinum is great, still haven't done all there is to do yet, what with not getting a Poke Radar chain past 40 yet and hunting Heatran... Sinnoh is an interesting region, I feel as though it lacks a certain magic had by Hoenn, Kanto and Johto, it all feels a little gray, but the snowy areas and tropical ones, and that bridge in Cannalclave are all very special charm wise.
I personally would think of Zekrom as a Dragon first, as I bloody love Dragon pokemon, the Electric typing is a bonus frankly. But I have only today had a go with Gen5 Pokemon on PokemonShowdow, an online battle simulator. Haxouros lives up to my expectations safe to say and Archeops is super cool too.
Bronzong does indeed have good Special Attack, but it is its strong Defense still were it triumphs. I find myself using Extrasensory mostly with Bronzong, but Gyro Ball is sometimes a game changer.

i've never actually caught Salamence... ok according to bulbapedia you can get them at meteor falls. I'm never gonna find it...
I don't think i've done everything on my platinum game, I just beat the main story. I think I finished diamond though. Everything but the frontier leaders and the poke radar (which I'm no good at, no legit shines for me). After I beat the elite four though, I started using an Action replay on diamond. Its the only game i've hacked though.
The different climates were interesting. The snow was nice until it started storming, and i was like "its cold here, i can't see, wheres the exit". Hoenn had beaches too though (if thats what you mean by tropical). The marsh was new too.
I agree dragon types are amazing. I haven't had the chance to train too many though. Dragonite on leaf green (i have one on diamond too) and flygon on emerald (i know its actually ground/flying but its still a dragon in my book). Other than that, mainly legendaries.
ok quick explanation of how it works in my head: oh, its a water ice type, can't send out serperior, I'll use an electric type. And then the plain electric type pokemon was replaced so I send out Zekrom. So far its worked out ok...
i thought about adding Archeops to my team, probably would have replaced swanna, but I needed the water type. Besides if I get a rock/flying type, I'll probably use gligar.

Ronip In reply to beverly546 [2012-07-22 18:50:25 +0000 UTC]

Flygon is actually Ground/Dragon you know, it is a brilliant Pokemon and one of my favorites, I always team them up with my Salamance, have done in Sapphire, Emerald and Heart Gold. Salamance can't be caught wild, but Bagon, their first stage, can be caught in a secret cavern in Meteor Falls. They are worth catching always.
I personally wouldn't have a clue how to get Action Replay in the UK or how to use it, but if I did, it would only be for normally unobtainable pokemon like Arseus and Mew. Platinum has quite an expanded story in Stark Mountain, doing it now, taking for ages as I insist on beating every wild pokemon while teamed up with Buck.
The snow is cool, but the snowstorm was a pain, couldn't see, my Pokemon were battered and it took ages to walk through. Eventually, one day I'll get White I think... When Black and White 2 come out here, it should send White's price down. I just want to get my DS online so I can trade all over the World and battle all sorts of people.

beverly546 In reply to Ronip [2012-07-23 03:06:00 +0000 UTC]

Ack sorry, ground/dragon with levitate. Oooh secret cavern! I must find it.
The action replay is kinda helpful that way. i used it to get event pokemon like shaymen, Arceus, cresellia, and Darkrai (one of my favorite sinnoh pokemon). I also used a "boost experience points" type cheat that gives you 9999 exp points in battle and a bit more (~14000 i think) if the pokemon was traded. its nice to be able to quickly train pokemon so that you can focus on more than six and not put too much time into it. i mean, its not as satisfying as training them normally, but it doesn't limit you to only using the pokemon you use the most. Item hacks can give you any item (ex: master ball). Besides that, i just don't have to pay for stuff. The walk through walls cheat is mainly for amusement. its handy but it can mess up the game.
A lot of the legendaries i have, I got from the national trade thing. More recently i've just used a cheat that changes the wild pokemon in to whatever you want. Theres also one where the fossil guy at the meusem will give you pokemon but i don't like that one as much. I've also figured out how to make wild pokemon shiny. Combining these cheats will allow for shiny pokemon that are difficult or impossible to catch in that game (ex: shiny, ninetales, charizard, rayquaza). lately I only use these if one of my friends wants me to trade them something hard or impossible to get. (sorry for the long explanation. And I have no idea hood it works in the UK.)
Yeah, i got white version. Prices will probably go down when the new games come out. You might be able to find more used games too. i think i'm going to get black 2 when it comes out.

Yeah, for Bagons, go up the waterfall in Meteor Falls and just follow the path until you have to Surf some water to a cave, in side is a Dragon Scale is something and a whole lotta' Bagon (about lvl25 to lvl35).
I know that in Diamond and Pearl (and on Platinum, though harder) you can glitch to get Darkrai and Shaymin by crossing load lines on a bike quick enough the game can't load the terrain, therefore letting you walk great distances to their catch locations. But Arseus, he is worth hacking for without a doubt. I can see the benefit of exp.boosts, but I like the challenge of raising stuff properly. Shinies I'd either chain or soft reset for, so far, only chance on Heart Gold got me a Shiny Drowse and Ponyta as chaining isn't a thing on those games and you can't soft reset for them. But in gen4, there isn't any pokemon that can't not be gotten shiny if done in the right way. Once I get my DS online though, I think there is an awful lot I will be able to get, but when that happens, I don't know.

beverly546 In reply to Ronip [2012-07-24 01:12:33 +0000 UTC]

Ahh waterfall. Maybe i'll go catch one tonight.
I didn't know about that glitch. I really don't see what the big deal is about arceus though. Yes he can change type and his stats are supposed to be the highest, but personally I don't care much for it. maybe its the design, maybe that is basically a normal type; i don't know.
Really, i've had horrible luck with shines. Out of all my games I've only caught one (a blue voltorb on sapphire). You would have to trade over something like a shiny charizard though or breed it. I actually tried breeding for one. I even used a pokemon traded over from japan to increase the chances of a shiny (this technique can be further explained by bulbapedia). I must have hatched 20 and no luck. It was kinda like "forget this, i have an AR. Take that game!" i talk to my electronics rather immaturely...

Ronip In reply to beverly546 [2012-07-24 12:46:13 +0000 UTC]

Yes, Bagon are super cool.
I think the deal with Arseus is mostly that he is like a god Pokemon, that is why he is so cool and a must have.
Shinies are quite hard to come by, but a Shiny Charizard is one you can guarantee youself you'll get if you have lots of time to waste, just soft rest for one at the start of FRed or LGreen. My friend soft reseted about 600 times and got a shiny Cyndaquil as his starter, he make me jealous with it (mind you, he has had no luck with shiny Ho-oh at last check). Then again, the Masuda method is worth a try, it does increse the chance by quite a bit, though it is still unlikely, and will leave you with lots of eggs.

Caught one! She's about lv 30 now (caught at 25). I named her Mars after the roman god of war (Ares in greek mythology). Salamence just seem warlike to me. Its not really a girly name though. Any ideas?
Shiny Cyndaquil! Im jealous now too... So soft reset huh? I've heard of it, never really had the patience though. Thats really the only way to get shiny legendaries though, and probably the best method for starters.
And yeah thats the name of it (I forgot). And yes I was left with a lot of eggs, even though I quite after a bit.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ronip In reply to beverly546 [2012-07-25 14:36:16 +0000 UTC]

Salamance is a very warlike Pokemon, though only 4 foot something... Seems smallish, but any war like name is appropriate. All my Salamance are males, but then I got myself a girl Bagon of Sapphire for my Heart Gold, now she too is a badass Salamance. If I leveled her up to the same extent as my lvl93 one, I reckon she'd be the better battle by the way of the fact I taught her Attract to take advantage of her feminine, so far in battle, it has made her more of a force to reckoned with than my main Salamance at that level.
I too am jealous of his Shiny Starter, now a Shiny Typhlosion, but at last check, he was having no luck getting a shiny Ho-oh. I myself plan on soft resetting for shiny legendaries on my Fire Red where I haven't caught any legendaries and soft resetting for a shiny Rayquaza on Ruby (as I don't want to on Heart Gold) and maybe for Beldum. I have been at that a while and am going to give in on account of the fact I can chain for shiny Beldum on Platinum with a greater likelihood of getting one.

beverly546 In reply to Ronip [2012-07-25 20:53:51 +0000 UTC]

So I guess Mars is a good name. I never really took advantage of attract. it always annoyed me when the opponents lower level pokemon used it, and I was like "no I only need one more hit!", and then my pokemon doesn't do anything. I understand thats the point of the move, like sleep or paralysis, and that its handy, but I still don't like it.
I know what you mean. I've trained two Blaziken to lv 100 on sapphire, and now I think the second might be stronger. They're move sets are a bit different too.
Well, I wish him luck in his shiny quest, and you and yours. Rayquazza especially, it has to be one of my favorite shiny Pokemon (up there with charizard). Shiny beldom is pretty cool, its silver right? I know metagross is.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ronip In reply to beverly546 [2012-07-25 21:01:16 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, Black Charizard and Black Rayquaza are the coolest of shiny pokemon, Metagross is too, as is the family of them, they are all Sliver and Gold, how cool.
I found that leveling up my female one as a Bagon was much easier as I just needed to pick male opponents and I didn't have to Exp.Share it to lvl up. What I though was the funniest was once attracted, if I used Dragonbreath and paralyzed the enemy, because then they were truly screwed. I almost felt sorry for them, the realized how much I hate being in the same situation and laughed.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

beverly546 In reply to Ronip [2012-07-25 21:27:32 +0000 UTC]

Haha, that is funny. Does full restore even work on attraction? It would fix the health and status problems but I can't remember them working on attraction and confusion. Really the only way to get rid of its to swick out or use a red flute.
i'm using an exp share and the elite four to level mine up. Im not going to let it evolve until it learns all its moves though. It looks like the only other moves it learns are protect and fly. I don't care much for protect and I can teach it fly. As a salamence it doesn't learn all its moves till lv 93 or something, unevolved it finished around lv 50. (last attack it double edge)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ronip In reply to beverly546 [2012-07-25 21:56:51 +0000 UTC]

Double Edge isn't something Salamance really needs... I would definitely teach it Fly tough, because you can then use it as a capable member of your team who can Fly and Salamance also benefits from a strong STAB with Fly meaning it can use it effectively in battle, especially because of its high Attack. If you let it evolve early though, it should be able to level up stronger.
Obviously, now on Heart Gold, whenever one of my Pokemon get attract used on it, I have my Red Flute at hand, but the AI doesn't.... So it is actually a very useful move.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

beverly546 In reply to Ronip [2012-07-26 00:23:32 +0000 UTC]

She'll learn dragon claw (49) and double edge (53), and then I'll let her evolve. Her stats should go up when she evolves. Its kind of a common technique, to train pokemon without evolving them.
I used it in leaf green for a while, until I got to the elite four. (I set it up like yellow version so I had the starters and pikachu. i also had Dragonite and Alakazam.)

Ronip In reply to beverly546 [2012-07-26 22:15:34 +0000 UTC]

I know, but sometimes it doesn't always work out. With my Gallade for examample, I got it to about lvl33 before evolving it so it would learn Psychic and then Psycho Cut upon evolution. But sometimes, the joy and power of a fully evolved Pokemon makes the wait worth while, Salamance learns Dragon Claw at about lvl57 anyway.

beverly546 In reply to Ronip [2012-07-27 03:29:20 +0000 UTC]

Cool gallade.
I dunno, I just want it to learn its moves so i'll have a (about) lv 55 Salamence that knows everything a lv 93 does. When rayquaza and kyogre reach lv 100 (they're about 80 now) I'm going to need a new dragon type on my team to take out that elite four member.

True, you will need a new dragon type, and a pseudo legendary like Salamance will always be one of the best choices. I will say, you don't necessarily need to teach Salamance everything it learns by level up, it has many good TMs to choose from so you can make it a battle platform of sorts.

Ok she's lv 54 and a salamence now. Moves: dragon claw, double-edge, flamethrower, and fly. the last two are from hm/tm. I thought flamethrower was appropriate since she's a dragon.

Ronip In reply to beverly546 [2012-07-28 12:48:44 +0000 UTC]

Flamethrower always works well with Salamance, I used to use Fire Blast on Sapphire and Emerald, but with hindsight, it has too low PP and is too inaccurate. If you get it on gen4, I have mine with Fly, Crunch, Dragon Claw and Draco Meteor. Makes for an all round badass, though I think I should I to have Salamance with a greater variety of moves, that is why I have two Bagon that know Hydro Pump who will one day become Salamance.

beverly546 In reply to Ronip [2012-07-28 14:10:52 +0000 UTC]

yeah, thats why I used flamethrower. I think the loss of 25 power is worth the accuracy and pp.
it would be funny if you had a team of salamence (and other dragons) that all knew different elemental attacks (flamethrower, thunderbolt/thunder, hydro pump, earthquake, ect). And they'd have nicknames like thunder or hydro so you can tell them apart.

Ronip In reply to beverly546 [2012-07-28 22:15:03 +0000 UTC]

In an ideal game, a team of dragons who acted like a toolkit of types, that'd be the best team I could want. Naturally, they all have high attack, so any physical moves especially would be worth the time. Sadly, I never have the TMs, and the BP or Game Corner Coins or whatever it is I need to buy them. But breed a A Female of the Salamance family with a male draconic Pokemon that knows Hydro Pump, like say a Gyrados, and you'll have a splendidly powerful little water shooting baby dragon to call your own.

beverly546 In reply to Ronip [2012-07-29 04:02:56 +0000 UTC]

Ah true, breeding is a lot cheaper than buying a tm. you'd better hope you don't run into any ice types though. i guess an electric/fire attack would be enough to do most of them in, but there might be a few with exceptional defense (or if you battle pokemon around the same level as you). Watch for speed too.

Ronip In reply to beverly546 [2012-07-29 13:00:35 +0000 UTC]

When my dragon teams battle ice types, I hope for the best and rely on brute force... Just have to hope Salamance can take an Ice Beam or Blizzard and hit back with one of his almighty Dragon Claws. Sadly, for defense, there aren't many dragons who do well in that field, that is why I have Aggron, the immovable object he is.

Ronip In reply to beverly546 [2012-07-29 19:01:46 +0000 UTC]

Shelgon is a defender, but it is slow and it isn't Salamance... Altaria I find has some decent Special Defense, but even then it isn't too great. Altaria's power lies in its ability to use Special Attacks to great effect and use Perish Song to screw things up for opponents, especially if they are down to their last pokemon. Aggron really is a tank, he isn't a Dragon, but he a metalic dinosaur of sorts and can learn some Dragon moves. Mine doesn't know any Dragon moves, but I still have him roll with my Dragons, because he is the tank of the team, he also has different type advantages and disadvantages (which given my team focuses on the Dragon type, I am screwed against Ice) and he is really a complete tank. With 300+ Defense at lvl80, most moves that aren't Fighting or Water fail to even scratch Aggron, and just in case they do, my Aggron holds Leftovers, hehee.

Hmm, maybe I'll have to get an Altaria too. I really like how they look too, so fluffy...
Wah, high defense! Ice is definitely a problem. Flamethrower is probably a dragons best chance.
I love using leftovers. My kyogre has it. Its like, when it gets hit theres usually not much damage and then it heals all of it in a turn or two. then Kyogre is like "problem?". its funny in my head (not good at explaining)...

Oh, Altaria are super fun, they lvl up really quick and can be very useful, like I said, Perish SOng can win the game alone, especially when the Pokemon using it is a fluffy dragon.
Ice is a problem, but like I said, brute force, and Aggron normally do the trick.
Leftovers are fun, especially if you could combine them with a pokemon that has high defense and Substitute, or even Minimize/Double Team. Aggron is quite like that, but when he gets hit, I imagine him say 'Ouch' very sarcastically while munching on an apple. When I battled Red, I used Aggron against his Snorlax, at the time, Snolrax was 10 levels stronger, but its Giga Impact didn't even take away a quarter or Aggron's HP, I bet Aggron was laughing. Needless to say, Snorlax got its butt whooped.

Yay sarcasm! I just looked Aggron up on bulbapedia. it says its defense can range from around 300-500 at lv 100. And its attacks not bad too. i bet he was laughing. ^_^
Out of curiosity, do you read pokemon nuzlockes?

My Aggron has had it defence increase at a steady pace, bet I could get it to 500 if I'd EV trained, but alas, I did not, besides, he needs some attack power. Found a pattern in the way two of his stats increse, I think it was Speed and Special Attack or something, they always level up the same.... I love my Aggron, he is the epitome of badass pokemon, both in looks and performance.
I have read a few of the pokemon Nuzlockes, only a few though. (I certainly wouldn't want to do the challenge)

Once he gets to lv 100 you can always keep training and use the box method. You gain points besides exp for battling and these will increase you're stats accordingly. put the pokemon back in the pc box for the stats to change. it works if you battle a lot before boxing (like 50-100 pokemon or something). theres an article on it on bulbapedia.
I think it would be fun. I'd like to do one on ss/hg or yellow (since i recently got that game).
some nuzlockes I like:
Kick@$$ fire red: [link]
Crystals SS: [link]
Death's (can't remember the version, in johto): [link]
Earl Grey's PGNC: [link]

Ooo, think I'll Bulbapedia that box method so I can get some proper heavy metal from Aggron, thank you fro putting me onto that. I think I'll have a read of these Nuzlockes too, thank you.

Yeah, the box method is for letting a fully leveled up pokemon get higher stats. I should use it on my lv 100s, but i haven't yet cus I'm lazy. -_-
Yeah those are some of my favs. Kick@$$ and earl grey's are really funny but haven't gotten to far in the game yet, great animation too. Death's Nuzlocke is also funny but can be a bit dark, the art gets better/colored latter on. Crystal's has more plot and well done gijinka (humanized pokemon) which earl grey has too.
on a side note, my hair is red now (temporarily), I feel like Silver (except female). ^_^

Think I'll have a go at teaching myself this box method, I reckon I could make a whole army of tanks of a lot of my Pokemon, though on HGold, non are yet lvl100.
Hmm, I found the way the pokemon were once scene pokemon and the next people pretty creep actually. Personally, the only time I have ever considered what pokemon would be like human is with the legendary beasts, which I think I have sorted. Raikou, would be like an hyper active young John Lydon (Johnny Rotten) but wearing more yellow. Suicune would be some one like David Walliams, someone who comes across as homosexual but is actually one hell of a ladies man, oh, and wearing lot of fancy blue clothing. Entei, just simply would be Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, because lets face it, The Rock has always been cool, and a strong fighter, and seems like a really nice guy. Somehow, I think thats how Entei would be, just with a deeper voice.
Also, if you feel like Sliver that must be cool, you should totally play the game all, errm, badguy like but gradually get nicer.

I thought it was kinda cool. Earl grey sticks to using human forms, the character design is nice.
Lol, those are good personifications. (though I only know of the last guy, i don't pay too much attention to famous people.)
Nah, i'm no good at being a bad guy. Besides it wouldn't matter (affect gameplay).

Ahh, basically, Raikou would be the inventor of punk rock, Johnny Rotten [link] as pictured there, just with a more Raikou colour scheme and Suicune would be someone like David Walliams [link] who is outrageously camp and is a great swimmer (he swam the English Channel and the Thames River for charity) and also a really nice guy. But besides those personifications, I find most of the other stuff a tab creepy, especially as I find a lot of artists (not necessarily these ones but ones I've seen elsewhere) tend to make them all female, even if they are really meant to be a feminine pokemon and that especially borders one the creepy given the (for lack of a better word) creepier side of Deviant art. As a kid and now, I've always pokemon as pokemon. (though certain ones, like Gastly, Ninetales and Latias can appear as humans, but I accept that as canon) Though giving them personae I can easily accept, makes playing the games a whole lot more fun if you imagine Giratina laughing at his foe in a ghostly voice as he uses Shadow Force, or two members of a trio battling with the other as you try and catch it and they sing a 'join us ' mantra. Yeah, I grew up with pokemon as a kid so that whole fantasy side sticks.
Also, on the badguy note, it is always fun to play the badguy (especially the misunderstood kind).
