Description Technical: Shot at Morro Bay (Central California) of my friend Dan. Point and Shoot digital camera (Canon) in a waterproof housing AKA crude plastic bag. Minor exposure/ss control in "manual mode". Took several attempts. Kinda hard to take pictures while surfing. Ocean=not stable. I like the sheet of water coming off of his arm as he takes a stroke. If ya like this I have a couple other water shots with my camera in a plastic bag. ALOHA!

Hey, this is a pretty nice pic! In fact, come to think of it, you can probably sell it on a microstock photography website like the ones I listed below, under the children search listing. Photos of children are big hits on microstock sites. I have been working on selling my own photos, and have several that were just listed the other day. It is a pretty cool system: companies can cut costs for photos by buying them from microstock sites rather than paying their own photographers, and you get paid every time an individual or company buys your photo(s). The signup for these kinds of accounts is free, and you get a cut of the pay. (the only reason it is free to register with them is because they take a portion of every sale.) Also, when a company buys your photo, they don't get the copyright, so they have to buy it a whole bunch of times, once for every time they use it! The photos never leave the microstock site, and will earn you passive income every time they sell for years to come. Exciting? Oh yeah! Have fun! (I would recommend bigstock the most, since they currently have a short waiting list for photo approval, and approvals are lightning fast!) Crestock and Shutterstock are tougher to get into since they have a skill level requirement, unlike the others, but will pay you a higher cut of your photo sales.) I would give it a go next time you find yourself with some free time, perhaps you will be a hit if you have more amazing photos like this one! Cheers! -Delkaoth [link] [link] [link] [link] [link]

A wiseman once said "Only a Surfer knows the feeling...."

How true it is...this picture reminds me of the feeling we surfers get of peace and solitude during those moments we paddle out there looking for that ride. No other feeling in the WORLD comes close...its just you..your board, and the Sea...
That peaceful feeling of freedom is then quickly followed by the exhileration that comes as that first whitecap comes rolling over the horizon and now its time to paddle your ass off and kick it up....

Way to capture the mood....gotta love it man!

Wow, you captured the essence of one of the places I've spent roughly 1/3 of my life in so wonderfully. Morro Bay, how I love it so...Cayucos and SLO as well. Haven't been for around 8 months or so, and that is rather depressing. But anyway.

Great shot, regardless of the location (no matter what the attachment is to it, lol). Beautiful sunset, and I absolutely adore the water. Like rolling hills of glass. And your friend Dan is a great touch.

And congrats on the DD. This is definitely a fave!
