A random and (not so) quick scenario. I just wanted to make a map showing the world with a single nuclear power against the whole world. In the process, the idea was constantly changing and moved away from the original. I hope you like it.

This world is divergent from ours in the fifth century, when Hephthalites invaded Persia, instead of India. This allowed the Gupta Empire survive two more centuries and establish Buddhism in northern India. Butterflies flew to Europe and Asia. Dark Ages lasted much longer, and various Chinese dynasties would never be able to unite and create a stable state. The spread of Islam in the east was stopped by Ephtalite state in Persia (which still exists) but Spain, southern France and Italy briefly fell under the Muslim control.
The memory of a single Indian Empire stuck in the heads of Indians for a long time. There were four attempts to restore Bharat Empire, but in the end it is always falling apart (the second Empire has existed for two centuries). And in the meantime, without the European intervention sub-Saharan Africa develops and becomes richer.

The year is 1973. Technology is at the level of the OTL 40s. The world is beginning to calm down after 20 years of atrocities of the Sarakolian Empire and her allies. No one could do anything to stop their Thunder bombs, the secret of which known only to the most faithful scholars of the empire. The world has witnessed the bloody birth of the first democratic republic in North *America, a Magyarian military miracle, messy fall of the Fourth Bharat Empire, a dozen of military coups in the young Chinese state, the destruction of the former Sarakolian colony in the nuclear fire with no particular reason. People tend not to think about the future, because they don’t see anything good in it.
But the world can change. A few disgruntled Sarakolian scientists are ready to cross the chemical wasteland on the Kongo-Sarakolian border and transfer nuclear secrets to enemies of the Empire. The world will no longer be afraid of the bombers on the horizon.
