Oh sorry! It seems like I forgot to put the link to the next page in the description. I can't do so now since I'm on mobile. But if you look into my gallery, you should be able to find the following pages in the "The Little Unkown" -folder. Thanks for reading!

Ooooh shoot. See, this is where not studying your languages will get you, Pami....

yeah, now she's pretty screwed... on top of that, the border region has a strong dialect. And Jiana is probably saying some things here, that would never be taught in school XD

Is this script based on a real language? It looks familiar. Whether or not it is real, is there an easy way for us readers to translate it?
š: 0 ā©: 1
Biali In reply to AnonymousGX [2013-06-05 23:24:49 +0000 UTC]
It is a script I made up completely. However it might be inspired by Chinese characters. but even if you knew the meaning of the letters, it would be just gibberish to you. I've been developing this language a few years ago, but it's not extremely elaborated.
In this case it's mostly there to put the reader into Pami's shoes, so they feel as lost as she does.

Thanks. I had thought that a symbol or two looked like it came from a dradle.
Quite a few others bore heavy similarities to Disney's Atlantis script, but with a couple rotates and/or flips. The first bubble looks a little like Atlantean for Y_TII NSY MFU PYY.

Hm, so either Ji is speaking a native Tigo language, and is swearing like a sailor, or the city uses an IS (International Standard) that has not actually gone international yet, and Tami doesn't speak it.
I'm going with a native tigo language, since Tami was having a lot of trouble with it in chapter 1.
or even a broken tigo dialect, because of where Ji grew up, they might have interesting slang.
I am really curious about this language though, how you created it, formed the characters and stuff. It looks very well made. It takes a lot of courage and skill to do something like this for a comic and a story.

Biali In reply to Tuiteyfruity [2013-06-05 23:33:32 +0000 UTC]
Yep, it's native Tigo language. Pami had quite a few difficulties in learning it. What's worse is that Grodan city has a very distinct local dialect and the Tigo sometimes have a strong accent, too. So even the stuff she learned in school could not really prepare her for this.
I've started to develop this language about 10 years ago. The characters have changed a lot over time. The ones I had developed first, did not look as natural. The ones used in the comic now, are heavily inspired by Chinese characters.
I also have created a little bit of vocabulary and grammar, but it's nothing too serious.
