Description
One of the legendary sites of Athens, that sits beneath the slopes of the Acropolis on the southwest side, is the stunning open-air theatre, Odeon of Herodes Atticus, with a capacity of 5,000. It was built in 161 AD by the Athenian magnate Herodes Atticus.It lasted intact until it was destroyed and left in ruins by the Heruli in 267 AD.
The worldβs best performers have appeared here, including Nana Mouskouri, Luciano Pavarotti and Frank Sinatra!
