Description
Otherwise known as the Battalion Landing Team, Triketra Platoon was an elite detachment within the 442nd Siege Battalion. Their primary task was to be inserted behind enemy lines and whittle down a bases' defensive line from their rear flank, utilising the element of surprise and forcing the enemy to direct portions of their forces away from engaging the main formations of clones who would attack from the other side, allowing the troops to close in on Separatist positions from both ends. They were issued additional weaponry and equipment in order to sustain combat for as long as possible and maximise their destructive potential. The sharpshooter to the right is armed with a RD-9A marksman rifle fitted with a digital optic, whilst the heavy trooper to the left is seen firing his UGL-51 rapid-fire grenade launcher, capable of sending all five of its explosive rounds downrange in less than 15 seconds. During this particular battle, their objective was to take point on top of Ridgeline-157, which had been subject to bombing runs a few days prior to clear out gunner emplacements so they could be used to provide adequate cover to the landing team. The operation would prove to be a success as invading 442nd personnel quickly overran what few droids and vehicles remained at the site, with the commanding tactical droid being deactivated and taken into Republic custody.
