when it comes to relationships, whether they be platonic or romantic, élie finds it difficult to get close to mortals due to his vampirism and immortality. his vampirism gets in the way because a considerable amount of humans find it to be frightening, and it leads them to not trust him. between it and his immortality, however, the latter tends to get in the way the most. in recent years, he's befriended quite a few mortals who aren't turned away by his vampirism, though his immortality is still a fear that lingers in the back of élie's mind. watching his friends grow old and wither away while he remains the same age is something he doesn't like witnessing, but there's nothing he can do about it, unfortunately.

childhood. during his childhood, élie's parents had a cat they kept around the house to protect their plants from rodents and pests. his parents warned him to not get attached to the feline, but élie didn't listen and did anyway. the cat was one of the few things that gave him happiness during his childhood, but unfortunately, when he was ten years old, the cat ran away and didn't return. 

quirks / hobbies. élie has a variety of hobbies. his biggest, however, is painting, which he also does for his career. he is also interested in reading, writing, looking at vintage stuff, and card games. some of his quirks include: getting easily distracted, messing with his hair and the sleeves of his shirts, picking at his nails and lips, and looking down when he's uncomfortable or embarrassed.
