my grasp is the one directly below the "normal" hand position.

I think the grip that's most like mine is the one on the top right corner.

Oh, definitely.
thats how I hold a pencil when doing traditional art, but when using a tablet, I do it most like the one above the mouse. ((Should probably get a stylus...))

A stylus makes a world of difference

Interesting, there are one or two here that I don't recognize, but still, it's something else to see the effect of different grips and by the look of it, different writing methods, such as the touch pad and mouse. Did you find any to be simply uncomfortable or otherwise difficult to sustain?

It was a good way to test your hand's stability and which poses are uncomfortable to you or not
Only the first 2 on the left were comfortable for me. The others either produced unstable results or forced me to use a much stronger grip to keep the stylus in place (the upper right one might work for broad brush strokes though)

This is true.
...and that makes sense. (and that too. XD)

I hold my pencil differently than these. ^_^'

It's hard to explain. I hold it with my middle, ring, and pinky fingers closed like a fist and have the pencil curled in my thumb and index.

So the pen tip points inwards to the wrist? Or just downwards?

It's at an angle away from the wrist.

Sounds like an awkward way to write. Doesn't the hand cover the text?

Nope. Well, maybe if you're left handed? I'm right handed, and I've been writing this way since I could write. I do try to hold it the way it is shown on the second row on the right, but I just can't. The clearest way that I can show you is from this picture. www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=hβ¦

What do you mean by ' more fine work ' ? That it doesn't have good pensmenship or use for drawing?
