Description Using a cover illustration from the weekly Tintin magazine dated April 8, 1948 and reworking it by adding bits and pieces to look like a real album cover, I imagined an unreleased Tintin album, "Shipwrecked and astray". In this episode, Tintin agrees to look after a Syldavian prince's son on a cruise over the Black Sea, but gangsters shipwreck the boat with the hope of kidnapping the child amidst the confusion in order to pressurize the small Slavonic nation...

-------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for the compliment! Well it is real, in a way, since it is based on an original Hergé illustration which I reworked completely, using other Hergé-made elements. [link] Thanks for commenting!

Thanks! I love the idea of a crossover. If only the Hergé trust were not so protective of his work...

That looks so great!
It always struck me as odd, considering Tintin is a Knight of the Order of the Pelican, that nobody mentioned this when he was part of the Syldavian space programme. I like the idea that he might be helping out with a Syldavian princeling as a chivalric duty!

Bispro In reply to kandyspots [2008-04-27 14:31:58 +0000 UTC]

I almost called it "The shipwreck of the Britannic" with a whole different storyline (which I may consider doing later on)... so there seems to be a connection, indeed!

AMAZING!! That sounds like it would be an AWESOME Tintin stroy. Good work, I'm impressed!!

p.s. did you draw it too?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Bispro In reply to kandyspots [2008-04-27 14:21:07 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for the compliments! No, I didn't draw it at all. All my fake covers (except the Messerschmitt one) were adapted from existing Hergé cover art for the weekly Tintin magazine in the late 1940s.

This particular picture represented Professor Legrand and two sailors instead of Tintin and the Thom(p)sons. Here is the original picture for reference:

I'll try to add these references to the pages some time soon!
