Description Using a cover illustration from the weekly Tintin magazine dated January 20, 1949 and reworking it by adding bits and pieces to look like a real album cover, I imagined an unreleased Tintin album. In this, "Hostages in the desert", Tintin and Snowy have been made prisoners of the fanatic Kalibans while helping with humanitarian relief in Kazurghijian. He has unveiled the smuggling of very dangerous weapons from the West and is set to be killed, but before doing so, the fanatics pretend he will be returned for a ransom. Haddock convinces aviation engineer Legrand to lend him his H.22 stratospheric plane (from Hergé's Jo, Zette & Jocko series) to go and rescue them...

-------------------------------------------------------

Certainly not!! This is not exactly fan art in the sense that I did not DRAW the covers. I merely used Hergé's material and rearranged it in my own way. Thanks, anyway!

Haddock to the rescue!
I saw in your gallery you had some sight-gags involving Tintin characters and ones from Captain Harlock. Don't you think there could be a wonderful story about Tintin trying to apprehend Lupin III?

Wow, I'm not the only one who's thought of a Tintin Lupin III crossover, I've actually done some of that my self, you'll see if you check out my gallery

Even if you don't have the artistic talent to make that youself, you could still write the down as a fanfic, you said on your profile that you can write fine

Sure! Lupin III is one fine character for sure. Feel you could take to the task and get a fake cover done?

I'm afraid not... I'm not artistic enough. But it's fun to imagine.

You can try to do a rough version, and in time I could get to do the proper thing. Think about it.

Sorry I took so long to answer - no, I know I can't do this. But I hope someone with more skill will!

I use Paint Shop Pro, the select tool to cut out around the characters or elements I want to use, then repaste them as new layers. Of course there is some editing of balloon and panel size taking place. Nothing really difficult to do, except you need to be conversant enough with a picture-editing software... and especially a hint of imagination to make the difference!

hmm.... i am limited (as you might be able to tell from my artwork...) on software. i have paint, but that should be alright. i'll have a go and i would love it if you would 'grade' it for me if you get what i mean

Whether your artwork is good or bad is irrelevant because what matters is that you take pleasure in doing it! Now if we talk quality, even the most professional artists can be unsatisfied with their work, so never mind...
I doubt Paint can do the trick, but you can try...

It looks pretty convincing! And even has a nice crossover with Jo Zette and Jocko. Hehe.

I'm actually planning to do a page or two using bits and pieces from both Tintin and Jo & Zette pages...
