Poor Lizzy was exhausted after digging a hole in a sand pile in my yard to cool down during our summer heatwave. This has been very heavily cropped as I did not want to disturb her for the shot.Related content

Lovely shot. I think it's a really nice detail the earth has exactly the same colour as the reddish brown in her fur. I like the composition, it's a very clear pic and the pose is very nice. She indeed does look completely exhausted.

She is milking it for all it was worth. Did not take her long to worm her way under the doona on the first night after the operation, although she found it harder to escape as the bucket got caught.
