The colouring kicks ass considering you use a mouse. I couldn't ever do somethin like that. Cuz I sucks. Haw.
Especially with subtle things like the greenish tint on the otherwise white armour and stuff.. yuh.

Gahaha, I saw the title of the picture and was like, "Wow, this is gonna rock, huh?" And yes it does! xD The design on this guy is freaking awesome! It's like...a super-detailed bad-guy from Sonic or something. XD Dunno, I'm a moron. Okay, on to the picture. Coloring practice, you say? Weill it certainly was a success. I really like the shading patterns you did on the head, especially where the lighting swirls off into the shading...like a whirlpool or something, very neat. The tentacals look very nice with the highlights there and the irregularities around his eyes and brow look spiffy as well. I like the line-dotted tattoo marks above his eyes, though it seems they aren't perfectly symmertrical; the one on [his] left should be scooted over a little, I think. The spear I think could stand to have a bit more shading, or actually, I think if the shading was on the left edge was actually on the edge instead of near the edge so that that line of normal color wasn't there, it would look better. Right now it still looks sort of flat. But I don't know...it just looks sort of flat to me, and I wasn't really sure why. His gloves and gear look nice, I like how they're slightly green so's to reflect the color of the squid pirate. And yeah, did I mention how cool he looks? He'd look great on a shirt, y'know? Him on the back, "SQUID PIRATE" on the front in dulled green. xD ...I talk too much.
