Nice sense of scale, and the detail is amazing! And I love the wings -- great work! <3

Ah, I'm pretty okay, I guess! Glad to be done with the semester, but sadly summer means I have to go back to working. ;-; Send help, I don't want to go back to Wal-Mart!Ā

It just... strips something away from your soul. I can't describe it, but I know that I'll never be getting that part of my sanity and life back, ever. XD
That's cool! Do you enjoy it? And do you make the food, serve it to the kids, or both? c:

Being a cashier at Wal-Mart is pretty close to hell on Earth. >XD
I'm glad to hear it, enjoying your job is the most important aspect about working, honestly. I'm glad you've found a good role that you enjoy. <3

Self-checks are a breeze compared to being a cashier for someone. >XD Working them is wonderful, however. Just gotta hang out and watch the people.
I know that feeling well. x.x Wal-Mart leaves me pooped, but when I worked at a cook for various restaurants, the heat just made me exhausted. It really sucks it right out of you!
Do you work during the school year?

So it's not as bad as it sounds?
I know the feeling with heat. And it 's mainly because I wear jeans... I need to find my caprees. lol
Yep. Every day the kids are there.

Self-checks are a breeze compared to having a customer glare at you and tell you to work faster. >XD Sadly working Self-Check isn't what I do most of the time. ;-;
That was the best part about working for Papa Johns, you could wear shorts if they were knee-length. It really saved my skin a few times during the July heat, considering that I worked right next to the oven. I'm sweating just thinking about it. >XD
You poor thing, I'm sorry to hear that. ;-; I stopped working during the semester because 15 credit hours with 3 studio classes was just... waaaay too much. I was only like $125 a week anyway, since I worked so little due to school. That kind of money wasn't worth ruining my GPA over. XD So are you in high school still, or are you in college? Or are you done with school?

That must get annoying. lol I sort of know the feeling though. When at self-check my mom usually just wants to go home by the time we're done shopping (I go with her because it makes it faster to get it done) so I have to hurry to scan and put stuff away. Which then causes errors from one thing or another and we have to get help at least twice each time. X'D
Oh wow. XD Yeah that would suck... I hate heat, which is why I'm the only one sad to see Winter go in my town. XD
Yeah, I bet working during school is tough. My sister does that. She has two jobs and she's still in high school.
I went to college for a year, then decided it wasn't for me. I really want to do stuff with art...and college restricts you to certain kinds. It's required to take a beginner course in that profession before moving on to specific mediums, but none are digital. So I found that I do fine doing a normal day job then drawing over the weekends if I can't bring myself to during the week.
So I really have nothing else to do over the weekdays anyway. lol

Well, I never said the self-checkout machines were worth anything. >XD They suck, but it gives me something to do, I guess!
I, on the other hand, love it. XD Summer is the best, and I hate being cold. Although there is such a thing as too hot -- 75 year-round would be warm enough for me!Ā
College isn't for everyone, and there's no shame in that. Taking the basics really isn't fun, but retouching on what I already knew gave me a very solid foundation to build upon -- it was like seeing everything with new eyes. It's a shame your college doesn't offer digital mediums. I'm at Indiana University Bloomington, and we have an extensive collection of Digital art degrees. I'm working towards Informatics with my cognate in Digital Art, so I'm going to learn the ins and outs of all these cool computer programs and see how they work, as well as learning new techniques to hone my skills. I really lucked out though, since I live a short drive from the college. I'm glad you found something that works out for you though! Taking time to hone your craft is really the most important thing we can do as artists. c:

I hear you there, bugs are a nightmare. By far my least favorite thing about summer. And if it's a phobia, I've got it too -- the thought of bugs being near me freaks me out so bad! When I see one I get the sensation of crawling on my arms so then I freak out even more because I think there's a bug on me... I'm a mess. XD
Aww, thanks <3 You've improved so much too! It's neat to see how far we've come, honestly. >XD It's a shame that freewebs went to pay-only and shut down all of the free websites. I would kill to go back and look at our stuff from like, 8 years ago. >XD
I know that feeling, learning something new is always a pain. But sometimes it's necessary, like learning photoshop instead of GIMP. Are you still coloring with an iPad? Because getting a computer with a tablet would et your skills flourish, since it's so much like drawing on paper and it's so easy to learn! And shading is where drawing from real life comes into play- I usually do still life drawings of my action figures, so I get a sense of how light forms around objects in reality, and it's helped me out a lot. I would also watch some videos from a youtube channel called Draw With Jazza - he has great tutorials that have been a lifesaver to me!Ā
Yeah, to be fair, black things are the hardest to shade. >XD The form gets lost in all of that inky blackness -- maybe you should practice shading on Shardian Sans, since he's white and it would be easy to see? c:
