There should only be one set of rights that are upheld by all people, regardless of gender, sex, sexuality, age, religion, color, etc.

Gays shouldn't have the right to marry or adopt.

People should have the right to marry and/or adopt regardless of sexuality.

Transgendered and transsexuals shouldn't have the same rights as men or women.

People should have equal rights regardless if you are born with the correct gender or not, and regardless if you've had gender reassignment.

Children shouldn't have the same rights as adults to be protected from abuse.

People, regardless of age, should all have the equal right to be protected from abuse.

There shouldn't be a Black History Month.

There should be a Human History Month where we look back on our past transgressions, acknowledge our strengths and weaknesses and celebrate our ability to overcome anything as a people, globally.

There shouldn't be all this politically correct bullshit either, or any need to protest the admission of a child into the Girl Scouts simply because she was born with male parts.

There should be no need to censor holidays like Christmas by making people feel bad about telling one another "Merry Christmas", or forcing people to take down Christmas decorations on their own property for fear of offending people. People don't require religion in order to spend a special holiday with friends and family, and not everyone will celebrate Christmas for religious purposes. That would be like telling everyone they can't celebrate Easter unless they're Christian.

There should be no need to force female Muslim students to remove their hijab in schools, or women in the work place when Christians freely display their Christian cross pendants around their necks or crosses on the front of their churches, especially when both are benign objects that only mean something to the person wearing it.

There should be zero tolerance when a certain group of people announce that they're deserving of special rights based on ethnicity or religion, all the while telling everyone how much they wished for equal rights.

Do all people in North America believe in the same religion/faith?

Of course not.

How many government officials have expressed their repulsion at same sex marriages because it's not Christian?

Because, somehow, all homosexuals are Christian? Do they not take an oath where they swear to separate church and state?

Then why do we continue to allow our own government officials to make decisions based on religious and/or personal beliefs as though they were speaking for all of us?
People like these do not represent us, nor do they represent our interests. They are only concerned about their own and have zero consideration for other faiths or kinds of people.

There simply shouldn't be any need in segregating rights to minorities simply because they're a minority.
