Description
This artwork is heavily inspired by the fairy tale of "Pinocchio". The dragon treasures a dream, just like Pinocchio: he wants to become real, and not just a puppet that is unable to feel the simple pleasure of being alive. The orb stands for his dream he wants to catch, but he is restricted by the shackle on his arm. This work as a whole is a symbolic piece.This will also be available as a print @ F.A.C.T.S convention 2007 Belgium!

Wow, that is a wonderfully beautiful picture! It has that whimsical feeling... I can't get over the Aztec'y feel of this style. It's really quite visually appealing! And the colouring is very well done. Defintely a fav from me!

love the ornamental frill/plate dealies on the face and tail, really adds to his image as a puppet.
colors are awesome, vibrant and noticeable without being gaudy, they're nicely balanced.
the clover is very pretty and adds a nice bit of interest to the background but there's a couple places where it's almost a little too busy. not too bad, just a little distracting.

I really like this. I'm a fan of symbolism (also of Anton Pieck, but that's another story). Maybe it's not totally clear tat this dragon is a puppet - only the head, tail and (stekels) show that. but maybe that's enough.

There's a simmilar metaphor on my favorite dragon t-shirt. It's a big black dragon with all the claws and stuff, but it has a huge chain around it's neck that is attached to a bed of roses.
