Description Okay, a lil bit of fanart for my newest honored author Joe Abercrombie I salute you too, sir, I doo indeed.

Just finished the second book, Before They Are Hanged, and am on the hunt for the final installment (which doesn't seem to be anywhere but I shall find it!)

In case you can't read my dodgy shorthand/mess, I'll go from top left in a circle

Logen Ninefingers, a lovely big barbarian with a nice coat. Am particularly proud of this profile...I never draw bent noses XD

Malacus Quai, who always looks sick I love Malacus.

Jezal dan Luthar, a stuck-up-his-own-arse captain. He looks a bit pale, I had the flash on my camera set wonky.

Ardee West, heavy drinker, heavy swearer, I like her hair.

Severard, a torturer. I didn't spend that much time on him, as you can *cough* tell...

Inquisitor Sand dan Glokta!!! He's my favorite!! He's crippled and can't climb stairs, but he's so sarcastic and I LOVE it! I like his hair, I don't usually draw short hair

Ferro Maljinn, an antosocial thing.

I love the way you did Glokta. So many artists make him look, I dunno, too sinister or old. Granted, he's been through hell, but I wouldn't picture a man in his thirties to look as old as some of his portrayals. And maybe their artistic decision will make more sense the more I read, since I'm only 100+ pages into The Blade Itself.

Thank you It is kinda hard to remember that he is quite young. I just really liked his character and how he went from hero to zero in a very short space of time. I wanted him to look ragged but in a more violent way, not just old and decrepit, so I'm glad you like him

LOVE how you did Malacus and Glokta. The latter looks suitably old and scarred, but still in a manufactured way, so you could believe he's in his 30s.

Awesome depictions, I think I like Malacus the most. He's probably the closest to what he looked like in my mind. Also your Glokta has an awesome expression!

Aw thanks! Quai was the first one I drew, I knew the second he appeared he would be my fave XD I've yet to see anyone draw Bayaz...he's obviously not attractive enough XD

hah xD quai looks exactly like I imagine. the others are a bit off from what I see them as though.
everyone has their own interpretation though Im sure XD awesome.

Thanks, glad you like Quai He was the first one a drew, due to the long girly hair XD It's difficult drawing from books - you never see things the way others see them ^^ I totally disagreed with the Harry Potter films!

Sorry to tell you this but in my opinion Best Served Cold isn't as great as the other books but it has some good ideas. Its not that bad but not as good.

I keep reading little bits of it in the bookshop but nothing really jumps out at me Usually I read a page to see if I like the style, but I don't think it's worth a significant chunk of my wages XD

Though when looking back you might want to work a little more on Logen cause he doesn't give off the look of a northmen or a feared warrior. Its good but just not as awesome as Glokta.

Thanks, but I probably won't be redoing this...I do want the other book that he wrote (I just have no money XD) So I'll do fanart of that probably. I wish I could have done better with Logen...he wasn't all that bad XD

You did a good job here, especially with Luthar and Ardee. I think Logen en Severard need to be way more manly, and Glokta a tad bit older. Quai on the other hand, looks a little to manly But still, I likey!

Quai should probably look more girly XD Still, I gave him some artistic license cos he's one of my favs Thanksm, I like the way Ardee turned out ^^ I drew more pics of her, cos drawing drunks is fun XD

I just can't picture Frost at all...I keep getting a mental image of Whitey from Flushed Away >_<

You did such a great job with this. Ardee is so preeetty, but with an edge - just like I imagined.

And I love Jezal's smarmy grin. Of all the arrogant, stuck up their arse fencers in the world, he's my favourite. And I know many.

Thank you Ardee was one of my favorite characters, so I wanted to do her justice Jezal comes a close second XD Glad you like his expression...I thought he turned out a bit cheesy at first ^_^;

thanks man, i had a hard time visualizing them. i like this book a ton and just picked it up. just the right amount of magic with great characterization. im very impressed with Sand dan G. -it was hard to visualize a decrepit looking 35 year old. but you did it as best as i think can be done >

Welcoem I loved this book, it was much more realistic and gritty than most fantasy books, and I liked how the magic was done as well...not too excessive and it seemed like something that could really happen I had a hard time picturing Glokta too, so I'm glad you like him!

Abercrombie does indeed rock. I worked on his covers (UK editions that is), and have finally got round to reading the trilogy! Awesome stuffs.... and great to see fan art. I should do some myself soon.

Look out for his next book, Best Served Cold... out soon, and set to be even better that the First Law. If that is possible.

man, he turned out very well, if you ask me. I think Ferro turend out a bit pretty - i don't imagine her as unattractive, but ... a different kind, i guess. the body language is very nice , though.
I wish there was more abercrombie fanart floating around.

Yes, this is the 'noble' jaw XD I don't have the heart to draw him with the 'mutilated scabby jaw'. And thank you so much, I'm never quite sure how to get that smug look across in a character XD I tried hard with Ferro, really...I just imagine her as an ordinary girl, but just with a harsh, fierce expression.
