Hairspray was great. Was watching it again, and got horribly inspired. Queen Latifah is fantastic, and multi talented, and GORGEOUS, and did I mention fantastic?
So this isn't exactly QL, but it is inspired by her wonderfulness. And burlesque. And the wish to try doing some rich dark skin, instead of generic-caucasian-coloured ladies. ('Cause all us marker-using art people have two or three markers that we use for all our characters. You know it.)
Please fullview, my scanner ate all my lovely subtle details.

I find fuller, more natural figures more challenging to do. Perhaps because of the abundance of cropped and manipulated and hyper-fit media representations? It's nice to meet someone else who appreciates a bit of comfortable, normal flesh. <3

I'll jump in and second that notion about the wonderful figure, I would say perhaps your issue with drawing fuller figures might come from lack of reference? I think the more you draw something and study from life it becomes easier more natural, I don't think I got nearly enough time to draw darker skinned models in college (as opposed to fair skin) and I find my ability to do proper paintings of very dark skin somewhat lacking for that reason. anyway, found your page via the super panties pic (hilarious and cute) I think your anatomy is pretty good and your markers are nice and smooth. Particularly on the chocolate fleshly bits. I'll have to check out the rest of your gallery too. Keep up the good stuff

I envy other artists who draw more roughly than I....but I also like my cleanness. It's a complicated feeling. lol
And I'm glad someone likes my cheat-backgrounds. Most of the time I'm all "Crap another pic with no bg, just some chick standing there....I know I'll draw a frame around her and make it look okay!"
